Overview
The Raymarine E66079 is a B260 bronze through-hull transducer with fairing block for Raymarine CP370 fishfinder systems, using 1 kW dual-frequency sonar at 50 kHz and 200 kHz. It is made for fiberglass and wood hulls, records depth and temperature, and fits deadrise angles from 0 to 20 degrees.
This transducer is a strong match for fishing boats that need dependable bottom tracking and target separation in deeper water. The 200 kHz beam is narrow at 6 degrees for detail when working structure or bottom fish, while the 50 kHz beam is wider at 19 degrees for deeper blue-water coverage.
The bronze through-hull body and included fairing block support a clean water flow across the face of the transducer, which helps reduce turbulence at speed and keeps sonar returns steadier than a poorly faired installation.
Key features
- 1 kW RMS power rating for high-output traditional sonar performance.
- Dual-frequency operation at 50 kHz and 200 kHz for deep-water coverage and higher-detail returns.
- 19 degree beam width at 50 kHz and 6 degree beam width at 200 kHz.
- Bronze through-hull construction for fiberglass and wood hull installations.
- Depth and temperature sensing in a single transducer.
- 30 ft cable with connector for routing from the hull location to the sonar module.
- Included fairing block helps align the transducer face with clean water flow on hulls with deadrise from 0 to 20 degrees.
- Rated for maximum depths of 2,500 ft at low frequency and 1,000 ft at high frequency.
Installation and fit
The B260 mounts through the hull, so installation requires access inside the boat, a proper hole through the hull, bedding compound suitable for the hull material, and careful orientation of the fairing block. The fairing block is important on many planing hulls because it helps keep the transducer face in cleaner water rather than angled directly with the hull surface.
This model is intended for fiberglass and wood hulls. Bronze transducers are commonly used on these hull types, but they should not be installed in metal hulls unless the full installation method specifically accounts for isolation and corrosion control.
Electrical and system integration
This is a traditional 50/200 kHz transducer for compatible Raymarine sonar modules rather than a CHIRP or network device by itself. It connects by cable to the sonar hardware, and that sonar module then sends depth and fishfinder data to the display system.
The product is suited to boats already using, or being refit around, Raymarine fishfinder hardware that supports the B260. Before installation, confirm the connector style, sonar module, and display compatibility so the transducer matches the electronics on board.
Use cases on board
This transducer makes sense for offshore fishing, bottom fishing, and larger coastal boats where a through-hull installation is preferred over a transom mount. It is especially useful when the boat needs stronger returns in deeper water and a more permanent hull installation that can stay in clean water flow while running.
