Overview
The Garmin 010-10562-00 is a cable grommet for Garmin marine network (RJ45) cables, used to finish the opening where a network cable passes through a panel or bulkhead.
It tidies up the cutout around the cable route at the helm, inside an electronics box, or under a hardtop so the installation looks clean after you drill for the cable run.
It is used with Garmin networked electronics such as GDL 30/30A, GMR series radar, GPSMAP series chartplotters, and GSD series sonar modules.
Key features
- Covers a drilled pass-through hole for Garmin marine network (RJ45) cabling
- Creates a finished edge around the cable route for a cleaner helm and console install
- Useful when running Garmin network cables between displays, radar, and network accessories
- Referenced for use with GDL 30/30A, GMR series, GPSMAP series, and GSD series equipment
Compatibility and fit
This grommet is intended for Garmin network cables that use RJ45 style marine-network connections. If your system uses a different connector style, match the pass-through hardware to that cable type before drilling.
When planning the cable route, leave room for the cable end to pass through the opening before the grommet is installed, and keep bends gentle so the connector and cable jacket are not strained behind the panel.
Installation and setup
After choosing the pass-through location, drill the opening required for the cable run, pull the network cable through, then fit the grommet into the opening to cover the cut edge. On fiberglass, clean up the hole with a deburring tool or sandpaper first so the grommet seats evenly.
Place it where it will not be stepped on or snagged by gear, and keep enough service loop behind the panel so devices can be pulled for inspection without stressing the network connection.
Use cases on board
Handy for refits where you are adding radar, a black box sonar module, or a network switch and want the cable entry to look finished. It also helps when replacing an older cable run and reusing an existing pass-through hole.
This is a good match for boaters building out a Garmin marine-network system and for installers who want a clean, consistent look at every cable pass-through point.
