Overview
The Raymarine E70010 is an iTC-5 transducer converter that brings compatible analog transducers onto a SeaTalkng network. It is used when a boat already has working analog instrument sensors and the owner wants to move to a newer networked setup without replacing every transducer.
One unit can take up to five analog sensor connections in the same housing, covering depth, speed and temperature, wind, rudder angle, and fluxgate compass inputs. It publishes depth, speed through water, log and trip distance, sea temperature, apparent wind, rudder angle, and vessel heading data onto the network, and it runs on a 12 V nominal supply with a 9 to 16 V dc operating range.
The case measures 163.5 x 93.1 x 44.3 mm and is splash-proof to IPX2. That makes it better suited to a protected interior mounting spot than an exposed area that gets regular washdowns.
Key features
- Converts compatible analog transducer signals for SeaTalkng instrument networks.
- Handles up to five analog transducer connections in one box.
- Supports depth, speed and temperature, wind, rudder reference, and fluxgate compass inputs.
- Runs on 9 to 16 V dc, with 12 V nominal supply, typical 1.5 W power draw, and peak current below 150 mA.
- Uses a SeaTalkng connection plus five transducer terminals with spade connections, with LEN 3 on the network.
Compatibility and fit
This unit fits refit work where the boat already has compatible analog transducers in service and the goal is to show that data on a SeaTalkng backbone. It works in instrument networks built around i70, i70s, ST70, and ST70+ displays, and larger SeaTalkng systems can use more than one iTC-5 when the sensor count calls for it.
Calibration support depends on the display in the network. i70 and i70s can calibrate supported transducers through the converter, while ST70 and ST70+ handle depth, wind, and speed and temperature calibration. Systems built only around ST40, i40, i50, i60, or ST60+ displays are wired directly to the matching analog transducers instead of through this converter.
Installation and setup
The network side connects into SeaTalkng, and the sensor side uses dedicated transducer terminals. For many upgrade jobs this keeps the original transducer wiring in place while moving instrument data onto the network, which can save time compared with replacing through-hulls, masthead sensors, or other existing cabling.
Because the housing is rated IPX2, it belongs behind the helm, inside an instrument locker, or in another protected interior space where it stays clear of direct spray and standing water. That is usually the right place on cruising boats, sailboats, and fishing boats that are being updated from older analog instrument systems.
