Overview
The Attwood Marine 11714-2 is a 1/4 inch x 50 foot hollow-braid polypropylene anchor line with a snap hook. It is a floating white line that is easy to keep in sight when you are setting, retrieving, or sorting anchor gear on deck.
Its polypropylene fibers are UV stabilized, and the line is resistant to rot, oils, gasoline, and most chemicals. That makes it a practical choice for boats that stay outside, see regular dockside use, or need a compact anchor line that is easy to spot and recover.
Key features
- 1/4 inch diameter and 50 foot length for anchor systems that call for this line size and scope
- Hollow-braid polypropylene construction with a line that floats on the surface
- White rope is easier to track in darker water and around the dock
- UV-stabilized fibers help the line stand up better to sun exposure
- Resistant to rot, oils, gasoline, and most chemicals commonly encountered around boats and marinas
- Supplied with a snap hook for quick connection to a compatible anchor eye or attachment point
Compatibility and fit
Before ordering, check that your anchor setup is meant for 1/4 inch line and that 50 feet gives you the scope you normally use in your anchoring depths. The snap hook also needs to match the eye or connection point on your anchor or related hardware.
This line suits boaters who want a floating anchor line for a tender, a smaller boat, or a spare anchor kit kept on board. If your setup depends on a sinking rode, heavier chain, or a different rope diameter, compare those requirements first.
Installation and setup
Stow the line where it can run free without sharp bends or chafe points, and check that the snap hook closes fully after attachment. After use, a quick rinse and dry-out before longer storage will help keep the line easier to handle the next time it comes out of the locker.
