Overview
This Attwood Marine wooden canoe paddle is a traditional hand paddle range for canoes and small craft where quiet control, simple stowage, and a familiar wood feel matter. The paddles use wood construction with a varnish finish, a palm grip, and an approximately 6-inch blade, with length options from 2-1/2 ft. to 5 ft.
This range is useful as a primary canoe paddle or as a backup paddle kept aboard for dockside adjustments, shallow-water movement, or short moves around a launch ramp or marina. The palm grip helps the top hand stay settled during strokes, while the shaft is sized to give the lower hand a secure hold.
Key features
- Wood canoe paddle with a varnish finish for a traditional look and added surface protection.
- Palm grip helps the top hand stay comfortable and controlled during normal paddle strokes.
- Shaft is sized for a secure lower-hand grip when paddling or making close-quarter corrections.
- Approximately 6-inch blade gives the paddle practical bite in the water while keeping it manageable to store.
- Available in 2-1/2 ft., 4 ft., and 5 ft. lengths to suit different paddlers, storage spaces, and small-boat setups.
Variants
This wooden canoe paddle is offered in three length configurations for different reach and storage needs.
The length changes between variants. The wood construction, varnish finish, palm grip, and approximately 6-inch blade are consistent across the listed configurations.
- 11760-1: Length 2-1/2 ft. This shorter paddle is useful where stowage space is tight or where the paddle will be kept aboard as a compact backup for a canoe or small craft.
- 11761-1: Length 4 ft. This mid-length option gives more reach than the compact version while still fitting many locker, cockpit, or cabin storage areas.
- 11762-1: Length 5 ft. This longer option gives more reach for standard canoe strokes and for small boats with a bit more freeboard.
Use on board
This paddle range is a good match for paddlers who prefer the feel of wood and for boat owners who want a non-powered backup aboard a canoe or small utility craft. It can be kept handy for quiet approaches, short-distance maneuvering, and simple control when a motor is not practical or not being used.
Care and storage
Rinse off salt, sand, and grit after use, then let the paddle dry before stowing it. Store it out of standing water and prolonged direct sun when possible so the varnish finish and wood shaft stay in better condition over time.
