Overview
The Attwood Marine Ergonomic Aluminum Canoe Paddle is a hand paddle for small boats, canoes, dinghies, tenders, and emergency use on board. It pairs an aluminum shaft with a black plastic blade, so it is easy to keep aboard without adding unnecessary weight to a compact craft.
The range is available in 4 ft. and 5 ft. lengths, giving boaters a simple way to match paddle reach to the beam of the boat, the seating position, and the amount of storage space available. An ergonomic palm grip at the top helps with control during repeated strokes, while the protective shaft grip gives the lower hand a more comfortable hold.
Key features
- Aluminum shaft with plastic blade construction for practical use in canoes, tenders, and small craft.
- Available in 4 ft. and 5 ft. lengths to suit different seating positions and storage spaces.
- Ergonomic palm grip at the top helps the hand stay comfortable during regular paddling.
- Protective shaft grip gives the lower hand a secure contact point while steering or maneuvering close to docks, ramps, or shorelines.
- Black blade and grip finish keeps the look simple and easy to match with common small-boat gear.
Variants
This paddle is offered in two length configurations, with the length being the key difference between the variants.
The aluminum and plastic construction, ergonomic top grip, and protective shaft grip are consistent across the available lengths.
- 11764-1: Length 4 ft. This shorter version is easier to stow in smaller canoes, tenders, and onboard compartments where space is limited.
- 11765-1: Length 5 ft. This longer version adds reach for wider seating positions or for boaters who prefer a longer stroke from the cockpit or center seat.
Use on board
This paddle makes sense as a primary paddle for a canoe or as a backup hand-propulsion option on a small boat, tender, or dinghy. It is useful around docks, ramps, moorings, and quiet-water areas where quick manual control matters more than electronics or engine power.
Fit and storage notes
Before ordering, check the available storage length on the boat and consider the paddling position. The 4 ft. option is easier to store in compact spaces, while the 5 ft. option gives more reach when paddling from a wider or higher seating position.
