Overview
The Raymarine B265 is a bronze 1 kW CHIRP through-hull transducer for Raymarine Axiom Pro and compatible CHIRP sonar systems. It is made for boats that need serious fishfinding performance from a fixed through-hull installation, with depth and temperature sensing in the same transducer.
The B265 uses 8 internal ceramic elements and is offered in Low-High and Low-Medium frequency profiles. The low band is used for deeper water work, while the high or medium element changes how the transducer covers water under the boat and resolves targets in shallower ranges.
This transducer has a 33 ft. / 10 m cable, an 11-pin CHIRP connector, bronze construction, and a 0 to 20 degree deadrise range. It is specified for fiberglass and wood hulls, making it a strong fit for offshore fishing boats, coastal cruisers, and larger center consoles with compatible Raymarine sonar hardware.
Key features
- Bronze through-hull CHIRP transducer with 1 kW RMS power for Raymarine fishfinder and sonar installations.
- Records depth and temperature, so the sonar display can show bottom detail and water temperature from the same installed unit.
- 8 internal ceramic elements with up to 103 kHz of total CHIRP range across the B265 family.
- 11-pin CHIRP connector mates directly with Axiom Pro RVX, Axiom 2 Pro RVM, RVX-1000, RVM-1600, CP470, CP570, and legacy CHIRP sonar modules.
- 33 ft. / 10 m cable gives installers useful routing length between the hull location and the sonar module or display.
- 0 to 20 degree deadrise range supports common through-hull locations on fiberglass and wood hulls.
- Included fairing helps maintain cleaner water flow across the transducer face on faster hulls, including installations used above 30 knots.
Variants
The B265 is offered in two configurations. Both are bronze through-hull CHIRP transducers for the same Raymarine sonar ecosystem, with the frequency profile being the main difference between versions.
The Low-High version puts emphasis on deep-water reach from the low band and finer shallow-water resolution from the high band. The Low-Medium version keeps the same low-frequency role and uses a medium element for wider coverage under the vessel in shallower water.
- A80010: Frequency profile Low-High. This version uses 42 to 65 kHz low CHIRP and 130 to 210 kHz high CHIRP, with beam widths of 25 to 16 degrees on low and 10 to 6 degrees on high.
- A80011: Frequency profile Low-Medium. This version uses 42 to 65 kHz low CHIRP and 85 to 135 kHz medium CHIRP, with beam widths of 25 to 16 degrees on low and 16 to 11 degrees on medium.
Installation and fit
The B265 is a through-hull transducer, so installation requires a hull opening and careful placement where the face can stay in clean water. It suits boats where a permanent transducer location is preferred over a transom-mount option, especially on offshore fishing hulls and larger cruising boats with dedicated sonar systems.
The bronze housing and fairing are intended for fiberglass and wood hull applications. The 0 to 20 degree deadrise range should be checked against the planned mounting location, not just the boat model, because deadrise can change from one area of the hull to another.
System compatibility
The 11-pin CHIRP connector is made for direct connection to compatible Raymarine CHIRP systems, including Axiom Pro RVX, Axiom 2 Pro RVM, RVX-1000, RVM-1600, CP470, CP570, and legacy CHIRP sonar modules. Before installation, the sonar channel and connector type should be checked against the display or module already on board.
Use on board
This transducer is a good match for boats that spend time fishing in changing depths, from coastal structure to offshore grounds. The Low-High profile favors sharper target detail in shallower water, while the Low-Medium profile gives broader coverage under the boat when that view is more useful than the narrow high-frequency beam.
