Overview
The Raymarine B175 is a bronze, low-profile CHIRP-ready tilted-element through-hull transducer range for Raymarine Axiom Pro-series displays and CHIRP sonar modules. It is made for boats that need serious depth and fish-target detail from a clean through-hull installation, with 1 kW output and depth plus water-temperature sensing.
The range covers low, medium, and high CHIRP frequency bands, with 0°, 12°, and 20° tilted-element options to match different hull deadrise angles. The tilted element sits inside the housing and helps aim the sonar beam straight down while the transducer body remains close to flush with the hull.
Low-frequency models run at 40 to 60 kHz for deep-water tracking up to 2,500 ft, medium-frequency models run at 80 to 130 kHz for up to 1,500 ft with a wider balance of coverage and target detail, and high-frequency models run at 130 to 210 kHz for up to 1,000 ft with tighter target separation around structure and bait.
Key features
- 1 kW CHIRP-ready through-hull transducer range for Raymarine Axiom Pro-series displays and CHIRP sonar modules.
- Bronze housing for fiberglass and wood hulls, with a low-profile shape that works well where a fairing block is not wanted.
- Depth and water-temperature sensing in one through-hull installation.
- Low, medium, and high CHIRP bands let the installation be matched to deep-water tracking, mid-depth fishing, or tighter shallow-water target separation.
- Available tilt angles of 0°, 12°, and 20° help match hull deadrise ranges from 0° to 24°.
- Flush-style tilted-element installation keeps the sonar beam aimed downward while keeping the outside housing close to the hull surface.
- Can be installed as a single B175 transducer or paired with another B175 when the sonar setup supports a dual-transducer arrangement.
Variants
This B175 range varies by CHIRP frequency band and tilted-element angle. The low band is the deep-water option, the medium band balances coverage with target detail at mid depths, and the high band is the better fit when close target separation and bottom detail matter most.
The tilt angle is selected around hull deadrise: 0° tilt is for 0° to 7° deadrise, 12° tilt is for 8° to 15° deadrise, and 20° tilt is for 16° to 24° deadrise. The bronze through-hull construction, 1 kW rating, and depth and temperature functions remain consistent across the B175 range.
Compatibility and fit
The B175 is intended for fiberglass and wood hulls. It is not the right housing choice for every hull material, so metal hull installations should be checked carefully before ordering. The low-profile body is useful on center consoles, fishing boats, and trailerable boats where outside hull clearance matters.
Frequency choice should be matched to fishing style and water depth. Low CHIRP suits offshore work and deeper water, medium CHIRP works well where a mix of coverage and detail is useful, and high CHIRP gives cleaner separation around reefs, wrecks, bait schools, and bottom changes in shallower water.
Installation and setup
The tilted-element angle should be selected before installation by measuring the hull deadrise at the mounting location, not by estimating the general shape of the boat. A correct angle helps the beam point downward after the transducer is bedded into the hull.
Single-transducer installations require the proper Raymarine operation cable, while paired B175 installations require the correct Y-cable arrangement for the sonar module. The final cable path should be kept away from ignition wiring, high-current DC runs, and sources of electrical noise to help protect sonar image quality.
Use on board
This transducer range is a strong match for fishing boats that need a permanent through-hull sonar installation with CHIRP performance rather than a transom-mounted sensor. It suits coastal fishing, offshore runs, center-console layouts, and hulls where a low outside profile is important.
