Overview
The JL Audio Marine RCA Audio Interconnect is an RCA patch cable for carrying low-level audio signal between a source unit, processor, and amplifier in a boat stereo system. It is offered in 2-channel and 4-channel versions, with lengths from 3 ft up to 25 ft (7.62 m) to match short helm runs or longer routes to amps mounted in a console, cabin, or aft compartment.
The cable uses twisted-pair conductors with oxygen-free copper and polyethylene dielectrics, plus molded connector bodies and machined brass connector elements. That construction helps keep the connection stable and the signal clean when the boat is dealing with vibration and electrical noise from pumps, chargers, and engine systems.
Key features
- RCA audio interconnect for line-level signals between head unit, DSP, and amplifier inputs.
- Available in 2-channel and 4-channel layouts to match common stereo and multi-input amp wiring.
- Length options to suit tight helm spaces or long runs across the boat (3 ft, 6 ft, 12 ft, 25 ft).
- Twisted-pair conductor geometry that helps reduce picked-up noise in real-world cable routing.
- Oxygen-free copper conductors with polyethylene dielectrics for consistent signal transfer.
- Molded connector bodies with machined brass connector elements for a secure fit at the RCA jacks.
Variants
This interconnect is available with two channel counts and multiple cable lengths. The channel count changes how many RCA pairs are in the single jacketed cable, and the length changes how far you can route the signal run without adding couplers.
2-channel versions carry one left and right pair. 4-channel versions carry two left and right pairs in the same cable, which is commonly used when feeding multiple amplifier inputs from a multi-zone source or a processor.
Installation and routing
Run RCA cables separately from high-current DC wiring when you can, especially battery feeds to amplifiers, windlass lines, and long pump runs. If cable paths must cross, crossing at a right angle helps reduce induced noise compared with running side-by-side for long distances.
Leave a little service loop at the source and amplifier ends so you are not pulling on the RCA jacks during service. Support the cable with clamps or ties so the connectors are not carrying the weight of the run in a vibrating console.
Compatibility notes
This is an analog RCA interconnect intended for preamp or line-level audio connections. It mates with standard RCA inputs and outputs found on many marine source units, processors, and amplifiers, and it is not meant for speaker-level wiring.
What’s included
- One marine audio RCA interconnect cable (channel count and length as selected).
Maintenance and care
Keep the RCA ends clean and dry where possible, especially in open consoles or lockers that see spray. During seasonal checks, inspect the connectors for looseness or corrosion and make sure the cable jacket has not been pinched by hatches, drawers, or rigging tubes.
