Overview
The Garmin 010-13009-05 is a threaded 2-pin power cable for a compatible OnDeck Hub, used to tie the hub into your boat’s DC system.
The lead is 6 ft (1.8 m) and includes an in-line fuse holder with a 7.5 A, 42 V fast-acting fuse, which keeps protection right in the power feed instead of relying on a downstream fuse that may be overlooked later.
This is the replacement-style cable you use for a permanent install where the hub needs steady power for vessel monitoring.
Key features
- Threaded 2-pin connector with a locking ring to help prevent vibration from backing the connection off.
- 6 ft (1.8 m) overall length for typical battery compartment to hub routing.
- In-line fuse holder with a 7.5 A, 42 V fast-acting fuse for the hub power feed.
- Bare-wire end for direct connection to a battery feed or a fused DC distribution point.
- Extension guidance supports longer runs up to 36 ft (11 m) when the correct wire gauge is used.
Compatibility and fit
This cable fits the OnDeck Hub power port that uses a 2-pin threaded connection with a locking ring. It will not mate with Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000, or standard 2-wire power leads that do not have the threaded 2-pin connector.
If your hub’s power port looks different, confirm the connector style before ordering.
Installation and setup
Route the cable from the hub to a clean 12 V or 24 V DC source. Connect the red wire to positive (+) and the black wire to negative (-), and keep the in-line fuse holder in place.
For monitoring when the engine is off, feed the hub from an always-on circuit rather than a keyed ignition circuit. Use watertight splices and heat-shrink where the bare-wire end could see moisture, and secure the run so the connector is not used as strain relief.
Extending the run
If you need more length, extend the power run with the right wire gauge for voltage drop: up to 15 ft (4.6 m) use 10 AWG (5.26 mm2), up to 23 ft (7 m) use 8 AWG (8.36 mm2), and up to 36 ft (11 m) use 6 AWG (13.29 mm2). Keep the splice protected and out of wet locations whenever possible.
Use on board
This is a good match for boats that rely on OnDeck for remote status checks and alerts while the vessel is at the dock, on a mooring, or in storage. A threaded power connection helps in lockers and under-helm installs where wiring sees engine vibration and occasional spray.
Maintenance and care
Periodically check that the locking ring is hand-tight, the cable jacket is not chafed, and the fuse holder is clean and closing fully. Replace the fuse only with the same 7.5 A fast-acting type, and keep the wiring supported so movement is not carried by the connector.
