Overview
The Jabsco Marine Water Pressure Booster Systems is a range of freshwater pressure systems for boats, supplied as assembled pump and accumulator tank units. The range covers 12 VDC and 24 VDC installations, with Single Stack and Double Stack layouts for different onboard water demand. Depending on the selected variant, open flow is 16 LPM (4.3 GPM) or 31 LPM (8.2 GPM), with 40 PSI (2.8 bar) pressure cut-off.
These systems fit into the freshwater line after the tank and before the pipework splits to the water heater and outlets. The 2 liter accumulator tank helps keep flow steadier at galley taps, showers, and other freshwater outlets, while the inline strainer protects the pump inlet from debris during tank service, refits, or normal freshwater use.
Key features
- Assembled pump and accumulator tank layout reduces plumbing work compared with building a pressure set from separate components.
- Single Stack option uses one 12 VDC PARMAX HD4 pump and delivers 16 LPM (4.3 GPM) open flow.
- Double Stack options use two PARMAX HD4 pumps with two-stage operation and 31 LPM (8.2 GPM) open flow for higher onboard water demand.
- 2 liter (0.5 gallon) internal bladder accumulator tank helps smooth flow and reduce short cycling at taps and showers.
- 19 mm (3/4 in) hose-tail port fittings and an inline Quick Connect 40 mesh strainer are included with each system.
- Self-priming up to 8 ft (2.4 m) dry prime and run-dry capability help during tank changeover, commissioning, and intermittent freshwater use.
- IPX6 pump rating, thermal motor protection, and ISO 8846 ignition protection support use in typical marine service areas.
Variants
This product is offered in Single Stack and Double Stack configurations, with voltage options matched to common marine DC systems.
The main differences are system type and voltage. The Single Stack version uses one pump, while the Double Stack versions use two pumps with two-stage operation. The 52530 Double Stack models share the same open-flow rating and 2 liter accumulator layout, with separate 12 VDC and 24 VDC choices for the vessel electrical system.
- 52520-1000: Single Stack, 12 VDC. This version uses one PARMAX HD4 pump with a 2 liter accumulator tank and 16 LPM (4.3 GPM) open flow for freshwater service on smaller and mid-size boats.
- 52530-1000: Double Stack, 12 VDC. This 12 VDC double stack configuration uses two PARMAX HD4 pumps with two-stage operation and 31 LPM (8.2 GPM) open flow for boats with higher freshwater demand.
- 52530-1100: Double Stack, 24 VDC. This option keeps the double stack layout and 31 LPM (8.2 GPM) open flow, matched to 24 VDC electrical systems with an 18 to 27.2 VDC operating voltage range.
What's included
- Selected water pressure system unit
- 2 liter (0.5 gallon) accumulator tank
- PARMAX HD4 pump or pumps according to selected stack configuration
- 19 mm (3/4 in) hose-tail port fittings
- Inline Quick Connect 40 mesh strainer
- Installation and operation manual
Installation and fit
Mount the unit securely on a flat surface where it remains accessible for inspection and routine service. Plan extra room around the port clips, hose bends, and wiring so the fittings can be connected without strain. The system belongs after the freshwater tank and before the plumbing divides toward the water heater and branch outlets.
Electrical and system integration
The 12 VDC Single Stack variant operates from 9 to 13.6 VDC and uses a 15 amp fuse. The 12 VDC Double Stack variant also operates from 9 to 13.6 VDC and uses a 25 amp fuse. The 24 VDC Double Stack variant operates from 18 to 27.2 VDC and uses a 15 amp fuse. Match the variant to the vessel's DC system before ordering, as the 12 VDC and 24 VDC models are not interchangeable.
Materials and service environment
The pump construction includes glass-filled polypropylene in the wetted upper housing, Santoprene diaphragm material, EPDM valves and seals, and stainless steel pump-head fasteners. The pump carries an IPX6 rating, which is useful in areas where spray and washdown exposure can occur, but the unit should still be installed where it is protected from standing water and can be reached for cleaning the strainer.
Use cases on board
This range makes sense for boats that need steadier freshwater pressure than a stand-alone pump usually gives, such as galleys, heads, cockpit showers, and multiple outlet layouts. The Single Stack version suits moderate demand, while the Double Stack versions suit vessels where more flow is needed or where several freshwater outlets may be used close together.
