Overview
The Jabsco Water Pressure Regulator is a flush-mount water entry regulator for connecting a boat’s freshwater system to dockside city water while keeping incoming pressure under control. It reduces unregulated inlet pressure to 45 psi on the outlet side, with a maximum inlet pressure of 125 psi, helping protect onboard plumbing, faucets, valves, and water heaters from pressure spikes at the marina.
This regulator suits boats that use a permanent deck or bulkhead water inlet rather than filling only through the tank. The garden hose inlet makes connection at the dock straightforward, while the built-in backflow prevention and removable strainer add practical protection for potable-water plumbing exposed to debris from shore-side water lines.
Key features
- Flush-mount water entry regulator for permanent installation on a boat, RV, or similar freshwater system.
- Regulates incoming city water pressure to 45 psi, with support for inlet pressure up to 125 psi.
- Garden hose inlet connection for dockside potable-water hook-up.
- Built-in backflow prevention helps reduce the risk of cross-contamination at the water connection.
- Removable strainer helps catch pipe scale and debris before it reaches onboard valves and plumbing.
- Available with a white flush-mount face or a chrome flange to match different exterior finishes.
Variants
This Jabsco water entry pressure regulator is offered in multiple flush-mount configurations for different installation finishes and connection layouts.
The main differences are the face or flange treatment and the configuration shown for the water entry connection. The pressure-regulating function remains centered on reducing dockside water pressure to 45 psi where inlet pressure is above the regulated range.
- 44412-1045: Configuration Flush-Mount, Garden Hose x Quick Connect Port. This version gives the installation a clean flush-mount layout with a garden hose connection for shore water and a quick-connect style port arrangement for the outlet side.
- 44412-2045: Configuration Flush-Mount w/ Chrome Flange. This version keeps the same flush-mount water entry role and adds a chrome flange for installations where the inlet face is visible and needs to match nearby deck or transom hardware.
Installation and fit
This regulator is intended for a permanent water entry location, commonly on a transom, cockpit bulkhead, utility locker, or exterior service panel where a dock hose can reach without being routed through the cabin. The flush-mount format keeps the connection tidy and reduces exposed hardware compared with loose in-line regulators.
Before installation, confirm the mounting surface has enough depth behind it for the regulator body and plumbing connection, and route the outlet into the boat’s freshwater line in a way that avoids sharp bends, chafe points, and strain on fittings. As with any potable-water installation, threaded connections and hose clamps should be selected for freshwater service and checked after pressurizing the system.
Use on board
This part is a good match for boats that spend time connected to marina water and need a controlled shore-water inlet for sinks, showers, deck wash points, or general freshwater service. It is especially useful when dock pressure varies from slip to slip, since unregulated shore water can place unnecessary stress on onboard plumbing.
For best long-term use, inspect the strainer periodically and clean it when flow drops or after connecting to unfamiliar dockside water. Disconnecting the hose when leaving the boat unattended is still a sensible habit, even with a pressure regulator installed.
