Overview
The Jabsco 44411 Series is a range of 45 psi water pressure regulators for protecting onboard fresh water plumbing when a boat is connected to dockside city water. It reduces high, unregulated inlet pressure from a marina spigot or campground supply to a safer outlet pressure for the boat’s water system.
This regulator is a practical fit for boats that use a shore water connection and need pressure control before water reaches fixtures, valves, hose runs, and appliances. The range includes an in-line version for hose-to-hose connection and flush-mount versions for a permanent city water entry on the vessel.
A built-in backflow preventer helps protect the supply from cross contamination, while the removable port strainer catches pipe scale and debris before it enters the onboard plumbing. The flush-mount versions also include a dust cap for the external inlet.
Key features
- Automatically reduces unregulated city water pressure to 45 psi for safer connection to onboard fresh water plumbing.
- Handles high inlet pressure from dockside water supplies, with references for the range commonly listing city water pressure up to 125 psi.
- Built-in backflow preventer helps protect against reverse flow at the shore water connection.
- Removable port strainer helps keep pipe scale and debris away from valves and seal seats.
- Available as an in-line regulator for garden hose connection or as a flush-mount water entry for permanent installation.
- In-line model uses 3/4 garden hose thread female inlet and 3/4 garden hose thread male outlet connections.
- Flush-mount models use a garden hose inlet with a 1/2-14 pipe outlet for connection into the vessel’s plumbing.
- Flush-mount versions include a dust cap to cover the inlet when shore water is not connected.
Variants
The product is offered in three configurations that change how the regulator mounts and connects to the vessel’s water system.
The pressure-regulating function remains centered on a 45 psi outlet, while the installation format changes between a temporary in-line hose connection and a permanent flush-mount city water entry.
- 44411-0045: In-line mounting style with 3/4 garden hose thread female x 3/4 garden hose thread male connection. This version fits between hose connections, making it useful when the boat needs pressure control without adding a permanent deck or bulkhead inlet.
- 44411-1045: Flush-mount mounting style with garden hose x 1/2-14 pipe connection. This version is made for a fixed shore water entry, with the pipe outlet tying into the onboard fresh water plumbing behind the mounting surface.
- 44411-2045: Flush-mount mounting style with chrome finish. This version gives the same permanent entry style with a chrome face for installations where the visible hardware needs to match other exterior fittings.
Installation and setup
For an in-line installation, the regulator is placed between the dockside hose and the boat’s water inlet using garden hose thread connections. For flush-mount installations, the regulator mounts in the vessel structure and connects to the boat’s plumbing from the outlet side.
Install the regulator where the strainer can be reached for cleaning. On flush-mount installations, the exterior inlet should be positioned where a shore water hose can be connected without sharp bends or strain on the fitting.
Use on board
This range suits boats that spend time connected to marina water and need a controlled shore water feed instead of relying only on the onboard pressure pump and tank. It is especially relevant for cruisers, liveaboard use, and dockside service where city water pressure can vary from one hookup to another.
Because it regulates before water moves through the boat’s plumbing, it helps reduce stress on fixtures, hoses, valves, and connected appliances when shore water pressure is higher than the system should see.
Maintenance and care
Check and clean the removable strainer as part of routine fresh water system maintenance, especially after connecting to unfamiliar dockside supplies. Debris in shore water can restrict flow or interfere with sealing surfaces if it is allowed to pass into the system.
When a flush-mount inlet is not in use, keep the dust cap in place to help keep dirt and spray away from the connection point.
