Overview
The Garmin 010-11425-13 is a 6-foot, 2-pin threaded power cable for supplying DC power to compatible GPSMAP chartplotters and black box systems.
It is commonly used when wiring a new helm, replacing a damaged lead, or keeping a spare harness on board. The threaded collar holds the plug in place at the unit, which helps when a boat sees vibration, trailering, or frequent connector handling during service work.
This cable fits GPSMAP models that use the 2-pin threaded power port, including GPSMAP 8417, 8422, 8424, 8617, 8624, 8700 Black Box, 9019, 9022, 9024, 9027, and 9500 Black Box.
Key features
- 6 ft (1.8 m) cable length for typical helm and nav-station runs without splicing
- 2-pin threaded connector that locks onto the matching GPSMAP power port
- Useful as a replacement harness during refits, troubleshooting, or electronics swaps
- Intended for GPSMAP installations that use the 2-pin threaded power connection style
Compatibility and fit
This cable only mates with Garmin units that have the 2-pin threaded power socket. If your existing harness uses a different Garmin plug style, it will not seat or lock into the port.
When space is tight behind the display, plan cable routing before fastening the unit in the dash. Leaving a gentle service loop makes future removal and re-termination easier without stressing the connector.
Installation and setup
Route the cable from the back of the chartplotter to your DC distribution, keeping it clear of sharp edges, moving steering parts, and hot engine-room surfaces. In exposed runs, adding chafe protection where the cable passes through fiberglass helps prevent insulation wear over time.
Connect the power leads to a dedicated, properly fused circuit sized for the GPSMAP unit you are powering, then hand-tighten the threaded collar at the device. Supporting the cable close to the connector with clamps or tie mounts helps keep strain off the chartplotter port when the boat is pounding.
Use cases on board
This cable is a good match for boaters rebuilding a helm around a GPSMAP 8400 and 8600 series display, rigging a GPSMAP black box install, or keeping a spare power lead aboard for quick fault isolation.
