Overview
The MotorGuide 941900050 is a freshwater bow-mount trolling motor with 109 lb of max thrust, a 45 inch shaft, and a 36 V cable-steer foot control with Pinpoint GPS and integrated HD+ Universal Sonar.
It gives you true cable steering feel at the bow while still letting you hold position and make small moves on structure with GPS functions like Anchor, Jog, Heading Lock, and Cruise Control. The built-in HD+ sonar supports traditional 83/200 kHz and high-definition 455/800 kHz views when connected to a compatible fishfinder through the correct adapter cable.
For real-world fishing use, the mount includes a 360 degree breakaway base to help manage impacts, plus a two-piece shaft with a stainless outer column and an inner composite shaft backed by a lifetime warranty.
Key features
- 109 lb max thrust on a 36 V system with a 45 inch shaft for taller bows and heavier freshwater rigs.
- True cable steering with a metal, no-flex foot pedal and dedicated controls for Anchor, Heading Lock, and Constant On.
- Pinpoint GPS functions include Anchor, Jog, Heading Lock, and Cruise Control for hands-off boat positioning.
- 360 degree breakaway mount with Zero-G lift assist, Bulldog latches, and integrated cable routing to keep the deck area cleaner.
- Integrated HD+ Universal Sonar supports 83/200 kHz and 455/800 kHz views with major fishfinder brands using the appropriate adapter cable.
- Katana two-blade prop, built-in Bounce Buster, and an LED dashboard for power, battery, and GPS status.
- Compatible with lithium-ion battery systems.
Compatibility and fit
This model is intended for freshwater use and mounts at the bow. It runs on a 36 V trolling motor circuit, so confirm you have a 36 V battery bank and wiring sized for a high-thrust motor before installation.
The foot pedal footprint matters if you run a recessed tray. The Tour Pro foot pedal measures 5.05 inches high, 9.16 inches wide, and 14.43 inches long.
Electrical and sonar integration
Pinpoint GPS control is built into the motor, and it can be connected on an NMEA 2000 network for additional features when used with compatible Lowrance or Simrad chartplotters. For best results, keep the NMEA 2000 network powered from a single switched 12 V source.
For the integrated HD+ sonar, you will use an adapter cable matched to your fishfinder connection type. Adapter options cover common connections for Lowrance (7-pin and 9-pin), Humminbird (7-pin and 11-pin), Garmin (8-pin), and Raymarine (Element and Axiom).
Installation and setup
The lift-assist mount and latch system is meant to make stowing and deploying easier during long days on the bow. When rigging, leave steering cables in a gentle "lazy C" and avoid sharp bends or tight zip ties on the steering system, which can add steering effort and affect GPS performance.
Use cases on board
This setup makes sense for anglers running a bass boat or similar freshwater platform who want cable steering feel but also rely on GPS anchoring to stay on a spot in wind or current. It is also a good fit when you want sonar at the trolling motor without routing an external transducer cable down the shaft.
Maintenance and care
After use, wipe down the motor and mount, and clear any fishing line or debris from the prop area. Periodically check mounting hardware, latch operation, and cable routing so the motor stows cleanly and steers smoothly.
