Overview
The MotorGuide 8M0092063 is a quick-release bracket that lets you remove an Xi series bow-mount trolling motor from the deck without unbolting the base every time.
It’s a two-plate setup: one plate stays attached to the trolling motor mount, and the other stays fastened to the boat. When you need the bow clear for storage, trailering, service, or security, you pull the release pin and lift the motor and top plate off as a single unit.
This is the white composite version, built to keep the footprint low on the bow. The mounting hardware is stainless steel, which matters when the bracket lives in spray, washdowns, and day-to-day vibration.
Key features
- Two-plate quick-release system so the deck plate can stay installed while the motor removes cleanly.
- White composite plates with stainless steel mounting hardware.
- Pin-lock attachment for fast on-and-off at the dock, at the ramp, or in the garage.
- Locking clip can be secured with a padlock to help deter theft and keep the release pin from being pulled (padlock not included).
- Mounting layout uses M6 hardware and a 6 mm drilled hole pattern, which helps when planning backing plates and under-deck access.
Compatibility and fit
This bracket is intended for MotorGuide Xi series bow-mount trolling motor installations. Fit is determined by the mount’s bolt pattern and the available flat surface area on the bow deck, so it’s worth confirming you have room for the bottom plate and access below the deck for washers and locknuts.
If your boat has a thin deck, a backing plate underneath helps spread the load and keeps the mount from working the fasteners loose over time. Also confirm the stowed and deployed positions of the motor still clear rails, hatches, and nav lights once the mount height changes slightly.
Installation and setup
Installation is straightforward: separate the plates, fasten the top plate to the trolling motor mount, then use the bottom plate as the drill template on the deck. Plan the location so you can reach the release pin and locking clip without leaning over the bow.
A 6 mm drill bit is used for the deck holes, and common hand tools cover the rest. Seal the holes with marine sealant to protect the core and hardware, and recheck fastener torque after the first few trips as the deck bedding settles.
What’s included

- Bottom plate

- 5 mm Allen wrench
Use on board
This bracket is a good match for anglers who trailer often, store the motor indoors between trips, or want a cleaner bow when the trolling motor is not needed. It also helps when you need quick access for wiring checks, transducer cable routing, or seasonal maintenance without tearing up the deck fasteners.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the bracket and hardware after saltwater use, especially around the pin and locking clip. A light wipe-down keeps grit from building up where the plates meet, and a quick inspection of the fasteners during routine checks helps prevent loosening from vibration.
