Overview
The MotorGuide 8M0120717 is a Xi Series quick-release bracket that lets you mount a bow trolling motor and remove it without unbolting the base.
The bracket uses a black composite body with a thread-locking clamp style that helps eliminate noise and movement once it is locked down. It is built for MotorGuide Xi3 and Xi5 bow-mount trolling motors, and the low profile with a small footprint helps keep bow space open.
A security clasp accepts a padlock so the motor can be locked to the bracket when the boat is unattended.

Compatibility and fit
This bracket is intended for the Xi Series platform and is used with MotorGuide Xi3 and Xi5 bow-mount motors. If you are swapping from a different mount or updating an older bracket, confirm the deck area has clearance for the motor to stow and deploy and that the mounting surface is flat and well supported.
Installation and setup
Plan the location so the motor can stow cleanly without contacting rub rail, cleats, or bow lights. A solid backing plate under the deck helps spread load on thinner fiberglass and reduces flex over time. After mounting, set the clamp tension so the bracket locks down firmly without forcing the mechanism.
On saltwater boats or any deck that sees frequent spray, rinsing the bracket after use and keeping the locking surfaces clean helps the quick-release action stay smooth.
