Overview

Installation and fit

These holders are made for side mounting on a vertical surface, so they suit gunwale sides, coamings, and other spots where the rod can sit clear of rails, seat backs, and the sweep of the reel handle. Before drilling, check the backside of the mounting surface and confirm there is enough room for the rod butt, reel, and line path once the holder is in place.

Because the angle does not adjust, placement matters more than with a swivel holder. They make the most sense on simple fishing layouts where you want repeatable rod position and quick access instead of on-the-fly angle changes.
