Overview
The Perko 0599 is a locking deck fuel fill for 1-1/2 inch fuel hose, offered with gas or diesel deck markings. It gives the deck fill point a locking cap, a marked chrome flange, and a black plastic body for installations where the fuel fill needs to be easy to identify and harder to open without the key.
This fill uses a chrome-plated zinc alloy flange, black plastic cap with strap, cap retainer and gasket, and an included grounding screw. Key installation dimensions include a 3-3/8 inch outside flange diameter, 3-1/8 inch neck length, 2-1/8 inch mounting hole diameter, and #8 mounting screws.
It is a practical fit for replacing or adding a deck fuel fill on boats with a 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose, especially where a locking cap is preferred at the deck. For gasoline installations, this style is not for fuel systems that require 40 CFR 1060 evaporative emissions compliant deck fills.
Key features
- Accepts 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose, a common size for boat deck fill plumbing.
- Locking cap helps limit casual access to the fuel fill while the boat is docked or stored.
- Chrome-plated zinc alloy flange gives the deck opening a finished appearance.
- Black plastic body and black plastic cap with strap keep the cap attached at the fill point during fueling.
- Grounding screw is included for proper bonding during installation.
- Cap retainer and gasket are part of the fill assembly for a cleaner deck installation.
- 2-1/8 inch mounting hole diameter and #8 screw size help confirm fit before cutting or replacing an existing fill.
- Locking cap includes a cover over the key hole to help keep spray and dirt away from the lock opening.
Variants
This Perko 0599 fuel fill is offered in two marked versions for matching the deck fill to the fuel carried on board.
The hose size, main installation dimensions, locking cap style, and basic construction are consistent across these two configurations. The marking changes so the fill is clearly identified as gas or diesel at the deck.
- 0599DPGCHR: Marked for gas. This version is used where the deck fill needs a gasoline marking at the fuel inlet.
- 0599DPDCHR: Marked for diesel. This version is used where the deck fill needs a diesel marking at the fuel inlet.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm that the boat uses 1-1/2 inch fuel fill hose and that the available deck area can accept the 3-3/8 inch flange. The 3-1/8 inch neck length should also be checked against the deck thickness and the hose routing below the fill.
The 2-1/8 inch mounting hole diameter is useful when replacing an existing fill, since it helps determine whether the new unit will cover the original opening cleanly. Use the included grounding screw as part of the boat’s fuel fill bonding setup, following the vessel builder’s wiring and fuel system practices.
Use on board
This fill suits boats where the fuel inlet is exposed on deck, in the cockpit, or along a side deck and the owner wants a cap that locks without changing the standard 1-1/2 inch hose connection. The marked flange also helps reduce confusion during fueling, especially on boats where gas, diesel, water, and waste deck fills are located close together.
