Overview
The Perko 0590 is a vented deck fill for 1-1/2 inch hose installations where the fill needs an angled neck and a low-profile chrome cap on deck. It suits fuel or water fill locations on boats where the hose run benefits from an angled connection below the deck, rather than a straight drop.
The assembly uses a chrome plated bronze cap, black polymer body, and stainless steel bead chain to keep the cap retained during fueling or filling. It is built with an integral tank vent, a 5/8 inch vent hose connection, a 2-1/8 inch mounting hole diameter, a 3-3/8 inch outside flange, a 2-7/16 inch neck length, and #8 mounting screws.
This is the non-EPA 0590 style vented fill, so it should be matched to the correct tank system and installation requirements before replacement or new installation. The cap marking changes by variant for gas, diesel, or water service.
Key features
- Fits 1-1/2 inch fill hose with an angled neck for deck fill locations where hose routing is tight below the mounting surface.
- Accepts 5/8 inch vent hose and includes an integral tank vent to reduce the need for a separate deck vent in suitable installations.
- Chrome plated bronze cap gives the deck side a polished metal finish while the black polymer body sits below the cap assembly.
- Stainless steel bead chain keeps the cap attached while filling, helping prevent dropped or misplaced caps on deck.
- Installs through a 2-1/8 inch mounting hole with a 3-3/8 inch outside flange and #8 mounting screws.
- Deck plate key is not required, which keeps opening and closing straightforward during fueling or water filling.
- DP package includes the mounting ring used to raise the vented fill opening above the deck surface in splash-prone areas.
Variants
This Perko 0590 vented fill is offered in separate marked cap versions for gas, diesel, and water service. The main change between configurations is the service marking on the cap, so the deck fill can be matched to the correct tank on board.
The 1-1/2 inch fill hose size, angled neck layout, chrome cap finish, black polymer body, vent hose size, mounting hole diameter, flange size, neck length, and #8 screw size are consistent across these listed variants.
- 0590DPGCHR is marked for gas. This version is used where the deck fill needs to identify a gasoline fill point clearly, which is especially important on boats with multiple fills close together.
- 0590DPDCHR is marked for diesel. This version identifies a diesel fill point and includes the diesel-specific anti-surge valve note for the vented fill assembly.
- 0590DPWCHR is marked for water. This version separates the potable or freshwater deck fill visually from fuel fills on cruisers, fishing boats, and other vessels with multiple deck fittings.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm that the existing or planned deck opening, hose routing, and tank connection match the 1-1/2 inch fill hose and 5/8 inch vent hose layout. The angled neck can help when the hose needs to turn soon after passing through the deck, but the hose should still be routed without sharp kinks or strain at the fill body.
The mounting ring is useful in locations where washdown spray, rainwater, or deck splash may reach the fill. It raises the vented opening above the deck surface, which helps reduce the chance of splashed water entering through the breathing vent. It does not make the fitting suitable for locations where the cap can be submerged or heavily flooded.
Use on board
This fill is a practical match for boats that need a clearly marked deck fill with venting built into the fitting, especially on compact deck layouts where a separate external vent is not preferred. It is most relevant for replacement work where the existing hose sizes and deck cutout already align, or for new installations where the system layout has been planned around a vented deck fill.
For gasoline systems, confirm that the boat does not require an EPA 40 CFR 1060 compliant sealed gas fill. This 0590 vented fill meets the listed gasoline fuel-system safety standard requirement, but it is not the EPA emissions-compliant sealed style.
