Overview
The Jabsco 1040-0000 is a replacement shaft seal for Jabsco electric marine toilet pump assemblies. It is used in the seal housing between the motor and the toilet base assembly, and it appears across Jabsco 37010, 37045 and 37245, 37055 and 37255, and 37075 and 37275 toilet ranges, including 12V and 24V versions within those families.
This is a service part for the waste pump side of the toilet, not a complete pump or a complete toilet assembly. It is the kind of part you replace when there are signs of leakage under the seal housing or when the pump is already apart for service work.
Key features
- Replacement shaft seal for Jabsco electric marine toilet pump assemblies
- Used across supported 37010, 37045 and 37245, 37055 and 37255, and 37075 and 37275 toilet families
- Common service part on both 12V and 24V versions within those supported ranges
- Fits at the seal housing between the motor and the toilet base assembly
- Relevant service item when leakage shows at the seal housing area
- Best matched by the exact toilet or pump assembly model already installed on the boat
Compatibility and fit
This is not a universal marine toilet seal. Jabsco used this part across several toilet families, but the safest fit check is still the exact toilet or pump assembly model on board. That matters most on older installations and discontinued models, where bowl style and rinse arrangement can differ even when the waste pump shares the same seal.
For Quiet Flush and conversion setups, this seal belongs to the waste pump service side rather than the bowl, seat, or switch panel. If the fault is tied to bowl filling, rinse water supply, or solenoid operation, a different service part may be needed.
Installation and setup
Replacing this seal means opening the waste pump side of the toilet, removing the pump assembly from the base, and working through the seal housing and nearby pump components. On a live installation, disconnect power first and isolate the discharge plumbing before disassembly. That is especially important on heads installed below the waterline or tied to an overboard discharge line.
Maintenance and care
On Quiet Flush systems, cleaners with strong aromatic concentrates can swell the pump seal and shorten service life. Mild nonabrasive cleaners are a better choice for routine cleaning around the head compartment.
This part suits owners who want to keep an existing Jabsco electric marine head in service instead of replacing the full pump or toilet assembly. It is a practical maintenance item for cruising boats, fishing boats, and other vessels that rely on an electric toilet for regular onboard use.
