Overview
The TACO Marine F16-0220-1 is a pontoon fender lock for keeping fender lines set at a repeatable length along square pontoon railing. It gives pontoon owners a cleaner way to hang fenders at the dock without retying lines every time the boat comes in, which is especially useful when docking height stays consistent at a home slip or marina berth.
This fender lock is made from Type-316L stainless steel and fits 1" to 1-1/4" square tube. The locking pin uses a 1" diameter button, and the nylon ring washer separates dissimilar metals to help reduce corrosion concerns where hardware meets the rail.
Key features
- Made for pontoon boats with 1" to 1-1/4" square tube railing.
- Type-316L stainless steel construction suits wet dockside use and saltwater exposure.
- 1" diameter button gives the locking pin a broad surface for quick handling.
- Helps keep fender lines at a consistent hanging length once the line is set.
- Nylon ring washer separates dissimilar metals at the mounting point.
- Fastens from the bottom of the square tube for a clean top-side installation.
Installation and fit
The fitting mounts through the square rail tube, with the receiver seated from the top and the fastener installed from below. Before drilling, check that the chosen rail location is clear of wiring or other obstructions inside the tube.
For a straight installation, mark the center of the rail, drill a pilot hole through the tube, then enlarge the top opening for the receiver and the bottom opening for the mounting fastener. Deburring the drilled edges helps the gasket and hardware sit properly and reduces sharp edges around the line area.
Use on board
This fender lock is a practical match for pontoon owners who dock frequently and want fenders to land in the same position each time. Once the fender line is tied to the pin at the preferred height, docking becomes a matter of inserting the pin into the receiver rather than adjusting the line from scratch.
It works well for marina slips, fuel docks, restaurant docks, and repeat docking situations where fast fender placement helps protect the pontoon rail and side panels from contact.
Care and maintenance
Rinse the hardware with fresh water after saltwater use, and keep the receiver clear of grit, dried salt, and debris. Periodically check that the mounting fastener remains snug, but avoid over-tightening, as excess torque can distort square tubing.
