Overview
The TACO Marine F18-0186VEL-1 is an aluminum quick-release fender lock for pontoon boats, made for square tube rail applications where fenders need to go on and come off without retying lines each time. It fits 1 to 1-1/4 inch square tube and uses a 1-inch diameter button for a simple push-button release.
This fitting lets a fender line stay set at the preferred height, which helps keep the boat protected at the dock while reducing the small adjustments that usually happen every time a pontoon ties up. When it is time to leave, the pin can be released and stowed, leaving the mounting point in place.
The satin anodized finish gives the fitting a clean look against common pontoon rail finishes, while the 6000-series aluminum construction keeps weight low and suits normal dockside use around freshwater or saltwater boating environments.
Key features
- Quick-release fender lock for pontoon boats with square tube rail structure.
- Fits 1 to 1-1/4 inch square tube, making fit confirmation straightforward before installation.
- 1-inch diameter button gives the user a clear release point when removing the fender pin.
- Mounting application fastens from the bottom of the square tube for a clean topside appearance.
- 6000-series aluminum construction with a satin anodized finish.
- Useful for keeping fender height consistent at slips, fuel docks, guest docks, and raft-up situations.
Installation and fit
This fender lock is intended for pontoon square tube installations, so the main fit check is the rail or tube size. Confirm that the mounting location uses 1 to 1-1/4 inch square tube and that there is enough access beneath the tube for the bottom-fastening installation.
Positioning matters as much as fit. The lock should be placed where the fender naturally hangs against the dock-facing side of the pontoon without pulling the line across seating, gates, covers, or boarding areas.
Use on board
The biggest benefit is repeatability. Once the fender line is set to the height that protects the pontoon, the same fender can be clipped in quickly without guessing the knot position each time. That is helpful for owners who move between a home slip, launch ramp docks, restaurants, fuel docks, and short overnight stops.
This is a practical match for pontoon owners who want cleaner fender handling and fewer loose lines around the rail, especially when the boat is used often and fenders are removed for cruising.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the fitting with fresh water after exposure to salt spray, sand, or dirty dock water. Keep the release button and pin area free of grit so the lock continues to operate smoothly, and check the mounting point during regular boat cleaning or spring commissioning.
