Overview
The Vimar Eikon 20086 is a 2P NO key-operated push button for the Eikon modular range, rated 16 A at 250 V~ with key removal only when the button is in the OFF position. It is a built-in device with snap fixing, sized at 22.30 x 49.00 x 43.50 mm, and it uses a halogen-free thermoplastic body with an IP40 protection rating.
On a boat, this kind of keyed momentary control makes sense where a circuit should not be triggered casually and where the control point lives inside a protected panel. It suits cabin switch banks, enclosed helm consoles, and service areas better than exposed weather locations, since IP40 is intended for dry interior mounting.
Key features
- 2-pole normally open key-operated push button rated 16 A at 250 V~
- Key can be removed only in the OFF position, which helps keep the control at rest when unattended
- Built-in modular format with snap fastening for Vimar Eikon installations
- IP40 protection for protected interior panels, with no lighting and no monitoring contact
- Halogen-free thermoplastic body with a matt finish, label space, and a 22.30 x 49.00 x 43.50 mm form factor
Variants
This range is available in Grey, Silver, and White, and each finish can be ordered with either a Standard key or a 000 Unified key. Those are the main differences across the listed versions.
The 16 A 250 V~ electrical rating, 2-pole normally open operation, built-in mounting format, IP40 protection, and OFF-position key removal stay the same across the range. That makes the choice mainly about matching the panel finish and the keying format already used on board.
Installation and fit
This is a modular insert for the Eikon system, so fit should be checked against the matching Eikon mounting arrangement already in the panel. The built-in body and snap engagement make it more appropriate for finished interior switch panels than for surface-mounted utility boxes.
Because the front is not sealed for washdowns or direct spray, it is better placed in dry accommodation spaces, enclosed control stations, or other protected areas inside the vessel. The lack of lighting is also worth noting if the panel needs night-time visual indication.
Use on board
This switch is a sensible match for owners, installers, and refit yards that want keyed control of a momentary electrical function within an Eikon-style panel. It works best where access control matters, but the circuit still needs a push action rather than a maintained switch position.
