Overview

The Vimar Idea 16165 is a keyed 1-way switch from the Idea range, built as a 2-pole 16 AX 250 V device with the key removable only in the OFF position. It uses a 1-module format, IP40 protection, and screwed terminals, which makes it a practical fit for protected interior panels rather than exposed deck or washdown locations.

On board, this kind of switch works well where a circuit should stay under controlled access, such as an interior utility feed, a service circuit, or a function that should not be switched on casually. The body is plastic with thermoplastic construction, and the housing size is 24.8 x 50.1 x 32.8 mm, so it is worth checking panel depth and Idea-series compatibility before installation.

For lighting loads with self-ballasted lamps, the rated load is up to 200 W. The keyed action and OFF-position key removal also make it easier to leave a circuit isolated when the boat is unattended or when only selected crew should have access.

• VM16165.S: Color Gray with Standard key type. This version uses the standard key profile and a gray finish that suits darker trim and switch surrounds.
• VM16165.S.B: Color Ivory with Standard key type. This version keeps the standard key profile with a lighter face for panels finished in Ivory or similar tones.
• VM16165.S.CU: Color Gray with 000 Unified key type. This version uses the 000 Unified key profile, which matters when the surrounding installation is standardized on that key system.
• VM16165.S.CU.B: Color Ivory with 000 Unified key type. This version combines the lighter Ivory finish with the 000 Unified key profile for panels that already use that keyed format.

Compatibility and fit
