Overview
The Garmin 010-12133-00 is a replacement SD card door for compatible GPSMAP 840xs, 1020xs, and 1040xs marine displays. It restores the cover over the memory card opening so the slot area stays enclosed between chart updates, software loads, and data transfers.
This is a small service part meant to replace a door that is missing, cracked, or no longer closes properly. It does not change your mounting, wiring, or network connections, and it keeps SD card access on the front of the unit clean and organized at the helm.
Key features
- Replacement SD card access door for GPSMAP 840xs, GPSMAP 1020xs, and GPSMAP 1040xs
- Covers the SD card opening to help limit exposure to spray, dust, and grime during normal use
- Restores a flush, finished look on the face of the display after service or card changes
- Simple, non-electrical part with no setup, pairing, or software steps
- Helpful when you routinely move chart cards or update software and want the slot protected again
Compatibility and fit
Fit is specific to the GPSMAP 840xs, 1020xs, and 1040xs models. Confirm the exact model on the display label or bezel before ordering, since other GPSMAP units use different door shapes and latch geometry.
Installation and setup
Power the display off and keep the SD card area dry and clean before fitting the replacement door. Install the door in the same location as the original, then check that it closes fully and stays seated so the SD card slot remains covered when not in use.
On-board use notes
SD cards are commonly used for cartography, user data, and software updates. Keeping the door closed between card swaps helps reduce grit and salt buildup around the slot, especially on open helms, fishing boats, and sailboats where spray and UV exposure are routine.
Maintenance and care
After washdowns or a salty run, wipe the area around the door with fresh water on a damp cloth and let it dry before opening. Avoid harsh solvents that can haze plastics and make the door harder to seat cleanly over time.
