Overview
The Lumitec 112558 is a flush-mount LED downlight in a black housing that gives you three output colors: dimmable white, plus red and blue. It runs on 10-30 VDC, draws about 290mA on 12V systems and 160mA on 24V systems, and is sealed to an IP67 rating for wet areas on board.
It uses a 2 inch round trim with a shallow body behind the panel, which helps when headliner space is tight in cabins, hardtops, T-tops, and cockpit overhangs. White output is 5000K and rated around 210 lumens with a CRI of 70+.
Color change and dimming are handled in the light, so you can control modes from a standard on/off switch without adding extra control modules.
Key features
- Three output colors: white dimming, red non-dimming, blue non-dimming
- 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V DC systems
- Current draw: 290mA at 12V DC, 160mA at 24V DC
- IP67 sealed construction for washdowns and exposed mounting locations
- Compact fit: 2 inch diameter with a 1.23 inch cutout and about 0.43 inch depth behind the mounting surface
- Timed Toggle Protocol (TTP) control for color change and dimming from a standard SPST switch
- Third Party Dimmer Compatibility (3PD): Yes
- CE certified, UL certified: No
Installation and wiring
Plan the cutout before drilling, especially in thin headliners or cored panels. The small cutout and shallow behind-panel depth make it easier to place over ribs, wiring chases, and tight overhead cavities.
Wire it to your boat’s DC supply (10-30 VDC). The light is polarity sensitive, so keep negative and positive consistent across all fixtures on the circuit to avoid troubleshooting later.
The sealed build works well in damp spaces like cockpits and hardtops, but it is not intended to be permanently mounted underwater.
Control and on-board use
With Timed Toggle Protocol (TTP), a quick off/on toggle cycles between white, red, and blue. When the light is in white mode, the output ramps up on power-up, letting you lock in a dim level with another quick toggle.
This setup fits boats that want normal task lighting in white, plus night-friendly red or blue, while keeping wiring simple on a single switched circuit.
Compatibility and fit
If you are installing multiple downlights on one switch, size wiring and circuit protection for the combined load. At full output, each fixture draws about 0.29A on 12V and 0.16A on 24V.
