Overview
The Victron Energy ANL-Fuse 80V is a bolt-down ANL fuse range for high-current DC protection in 48V battery and inverter systems. Each pack contains five fuses in the selected current rating, with 400A and 500A versions available for installations that need protection at higher current levels.
These fuses suit marine electrical systems where large DC loads, battery banks, chargers, inverters, and energy storage equipment need properly sized circuit protection. The 80V rating gives the needed voltage headroom for 48V systems, including many modern onboard lithium and inverter-based power setups.
The ANL body format uses slotted terminals for secure mounting in a compatible ANL fuse holder. The shared body measures 82 mm overall length, with a 32 mm center body section and 0.8 mm fuse element thickness, which helps installers confirm physical fit before replacing an existing fuse.
Key features
- 80V ANL fuse format for high-current DC systems, including 48V marine power installations.
- Available in 400A and 500A current ratings for matching the fuse to the cable, battery, and equipment protection requirements.
- Bolt-down connection style keeps the fuse mechanically secured inside a compatible ANL holder.
- Fast-acting fuse construction helps interrupt overcurrent conditions in battery and inverter circuits.
- Package of five fuses supports service spares, refit work, or multi-circuit installations using the same rating.
- Shared 82 mm ANL body length helps with replacement planning where space inside the DC distribution area is limited.
Variants
This Victron Energy ANL-Fuse 80V range is offered in multiple current ratings for high-current DC protection.
The current rating changes between variants, while the ANL format, 80V voltage rating, 48V-product application, and five-piece package remain consistent across the range.
- CIP143400020, current rating 400A. This version has an approximate voltage drop of 125 mV and a cold resistance of 0.16 mO, making it the lower-current option in this range.
- CIP143500020, current rating 500A. This version has an approximate voltage drop of 100 mV and a cold resistance of 0.25 mO, giving higher current capacity for systems specified around a 500A ANL fuse.
What’s included
- Five ANL fuses in the selected current rating
Installation and fit
Install this fuse in a compatible ANL fuse holder and place it as close as practical to the protected battery or DC source, following the vessel’s electrical plan. The final fuse rating should match the protected cable size and connected equipment requirements, not only the expected load current.
Because this is a high-current DC component, clean contact surfaces and tight hardware matter. Loose connections can create heat, voltage drop, and nuisance faults, especially on boats where vibration, charging cycles, and heavy inverter loads are part of normal use.
Compatibility and use on board
This fuse range is a practical match for marine DC systems built around 48V equipment, including inverter banks, charger circuits, and battery distribution where ANL fuse holders are already specified. It is also useful during refits where the existing protection scheme calls for an 80V ANL fuse with the same physical format.
It should be installed in a dry, protected electrical area rather than exposed directly to spray or bilge moisture. For saltwater boats, keeping the fuse holder clean and protected from corrosion helps maintain low-resistance connections over time.
Maintenance and care
Inspect the fuse and holder during routine electrical checks, especially after a fault event, heavy inverter use, or battery system work. Replace a blown fuse only after the cause has been found and corrected, and use the same current rating unless the electrical system has been reviewed and updated.
