Overview
The Perko 1310DP0CHR is a 12V bi-color bow light for power-driven vessels under 12 meters (39.4 ft.). It is USCG 1 nm certified and uses a 10-watt bulb, giving you the required red and green running light at the bow in one compact fixture.
This light mounts on a horizontal surface and has a black polymer base with a chrome-plated zinc alloy top. Gold-plated contacts help keep the electrical connection stable in an exposed bow location, and the 4 inch by 3-1/8 inch footprint works well where deck space is limited.
Key features
- USCG 1 nm certified for power-driven vessels under 12 meters (39.4 ft.)
- 12V incandescent setup with bulb included, rated at 10 watts and 0.80 amps
- Bi-color red and green navigation light in one bow-mounted housing
- Black polymer base, chrome-plated zinc alloy top, and gold-plated contacts
- Horizontal-surface mounting with a 4 inch long by 3-1/8 inch wide footprint
- Uses #8 mounting screws and a 1/4 inch wiring hole
Installation and setup
This fixture is meant for horizontal mounting at the bow. For the light sectors to line up correctly, the base needs to be centered and aligned with the boat centerline during installation. The mounting pattern uses two #8 screws, and the wiring passes through a 1/4 inch hole under the fixture.
That makes it a practical replacement for many older small-footprint incandescent bow lights, especially on runabouts, skiffs, and small cruisers where there is not much flat space ahead of the rail or pulpit.
Compatibility and fit
This is a conventional 12V navigation light, so it suits boats already wired for standard incandescent running lights. The supplied bulb is for 12V use. A 24V bulb can be used in certain replacement applications on appropriate vessels built before 11/1/03, but the standard configuration here is 12V.
It is a good match for owners who want a compact bow light with a traditional chrome look and who need to stay within the normal navigation-light requirements for boats under 12 meters.
