Overview
The Simrad 000-13260-001 is a 3-channel CHIRP sonar module that adds a dedicated sounder to compatible Simrad displays over Ethernet. It runs on 12 or 24 V DC (10.4 to 31.2 V) with a recommended 5 A fuse, and sonar output can reach up to 3 kW RMS depending on the transducer.
With three independent sonar channels, it lets you view up to three depth ranges at the same time and mix CHIRP bands such as Ultra-Low, Low, Medium, and High. Frequency tuning spans 28 to 250 kHz, and maximum depth can reach 3,000 m (10,000 ft) with a suitable transducer.
The unit bulkhead mounts and measures 340 x 100 x 250 mm excluding connectors (378 mm including connectors), with a weight of 4.7 kg (10.4 lb). The housing is rated IPX5 for spray and washdowns, so it belongs in a protected mounting spot rather than an exposed deck location.
Key features
- Three fully independent CHIRP sonar channels for simultaneous split-screen depth-range viewing on supported displays
- Sonar output up to 3 kW RMS, dependent on the connected transducer
- CHIRP frequency tuning from 28 to 250 kHz, with selectable bands including Ultra-Low, Low, Medium, and High
- Three 9-pin transducer connectors for up to three single-channel transducers, or a dual-channel plus a single-channel setup
- 12 or 24 V DC input (10.4 to 31.2 V) with a recommended 5 A fuse; power consumption is 85 W max and 23 W typical
- Ethernet connection (1 x 100 Mbps) for control and sonar data sharing across a networked Simrad system
- Bulkhead-mount form factor with IPX5 water resistance; 340 x 100 x 250 mm excluding connectors (378 mm including connectors), 4.7 kg (10.4 lb)
Compatibility and system integration
The module connects to the boat's Ethernet network and is controlled from compatible Simrad displays and fishfinders, including NSS evo3, NSS evo2, NSO evo2, and S2000-series units. When multiple displays are on the same Ethernet network, the sonar source can be shared so you can call up the same channels from different helms or stations.
Installation and wiring
Mount the module on a bulkhead in a dry, protected area with airflow around the case, and leave room for the cabling. With connectors installed, plan on about 378 mm of depth behind the mounting surface.
Power is through a 4-pin cable to a 12 V or 24 V DC supply. Use a 5 A fuse and marine-grade terminations, and keep at least 1.8 m (6 ft) separation from a magnetic compass.
The unit provides three 9-pin transducer ports. Disconnect power before plugging or unplugging transducer cables.
Transducers and channel planning
Up to three 9-pin transducers can be connected directly, with each channel running independently. A dual-element transducer that uses two channels can be paired with a third single-channel transducer on the remaining channel. Transducers with a 7-pin connector can be used with a 7-pin to 9-pin adapter cable.
This is a practical fit for boats that want separate views for shallow structure, mid-water bait, and deep bottom during offshore runs, or for anglers who want to cover different beam patterns without swapping transducers between trips.
What's included
- Ethernet cable (15 ft)
- Power cable (4-pin)
- Three 7-pin to 9-pin transducer adapter cables
