Overview
The MotorGuide MGA0476B is a 2-blade trolling motor propeller with a 3 inch hub in black. It fits MotorGuide lower units that use the 3 inch diameter hub, including R3 30 lb, 30 inch transom-mount motors.
Use it as a direct replacement when your current prop has chipped edges, causes vibration, or is not moving the boat the way it used to. A fresh prop is one of the quickest ways to bring back predictable steering and low-speed control.
Before ordering, confirm your motor uses the 3 inch hub size. MotorGuide props are not universal across all lower units, so hub diameter is the fast check that prevents a mismatch.
Key features
- 3 inch hub size for MotorGuide trolling motors that use the 3 inch diameter lower-unit hub
- 2-blade Power Prop style for solid push and efficient performance at trolling speeds
- Black finish that matches common MotorGuide lower unit color schemes
- Supplied as a kit with the propeller, prop pin, and prop nut for a complete swap
- Common fit for R3 30 lb, 30 inch transom-mount motors when the hub size matches
What’s included
- Propeller
- Prop pin
- Prop nut
Compatibility and fit
This prop is sized around a 3 inch hub. If you are replacing an existing MotorGuide prop, verify the hub diameter on your current lower unit or confirm your motor model uses the 3 inch hub family.
If your motor takes a different hub size, this prop will not seat correctly on the shaft. Hub diameter and the style of the drive pin slot are the key fit points to check before installing.
Installation and setup
Disconnect power at the battery before working around the prop. Remove the prop nut, slide off the old prop, and inspect the area for fishing line that may have wrapped the shaft. Install the prop pin, align the prop with the pin slot, then reinstall the nut and snug it down. Spin the prop by hand to confirm it turns freely and clears the skeg.
Use on board
This prop is a good match for anglers and small-boat owners running a MotorGuide trolling motor with a 3 inch hub who want a straightforward replacement without changing the rest of the setup. It suits the kind of slow-speed work where you are correcting drift, holding a line along the bank, or maneuvering around docks and structure.
Maintenance and care
After trips, check for weeds or line and clear it right away to protect seals and keep thrust consistent. If you bump bottom or hit debris, inspect the blades for cracks and keep a spare prop kit onboard so a damaged prop does not end the day early.
