Overview
The Garmin 010-12006-11 is a heavy-duty transom mount bracket with a spray shield for attaching compatible 4-, 8- or 12-pin scanning transducers to the transom.
It keeps the transducer in the water while underway for sonar returns that stay consistent, and the bracket angle can be adjusted so the transducer face runs parallel to the water surface. The spray shield helps knock down the water spray that can kick up behind the transducer at higher speeds without adding much drag.
Key features
- Mounts compatible Garmin 4-pin, 8-pin, and 12-pin scanning transducers on a transom
- Adjustable bracket angle helps set the transducer face parallel to the water surface after launch
- Spray shield reduces transducer spray at speed to keep the transom area cleaner
- Transom-mount positioning keeps the transducer submerged while running for steady sonar returns
- Useful as a replacement mount when an existing bracket is worn, damaged, or no longer holds adjustment
What’s included
- Transom mount bracket
- Spray shield
Compatibility and fit
This bracket is intended for Garmin scanning transducers with 4-pin, 8-pin, or 12-pin connectors. Confirm the connector style and mounting pattern on your specific transducer before ordering, since the pin count is tied to the transducer and cable, not the bracket.
As with any transom-mounted installation, placement matters. Keep the transducer in clean water flow and away from strakes, steps, intakes, and other hull features that can introduce aeration at speed.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting height and setback so the transducer stays submerged when the boat is on plane, while still clearing bunks, rollers, and trailer guides. Seal any transom penetrations with an appropriate marine sealant and route the transducer cable so it is supported and protected from chafe.
After the first sea trial, recheck fasteners and fine-tune the bracket angle. Small adjustments can make a big difference in spray and in how well the transducer holds bottom and structure at cruising speed.
Use on board
This mount is a good match for anglers and cruisers running planing hulls who want a transom transducer installation that stays put and keeps water spray under control. It also makes sense for owners replacing a bracket that has loosened over time from vibration and repeated trailering.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the bracket and spray shield after saltwater use, and periodically inspect the hardware for tightness. If performance changes, check for marine growth on the transducer and confirm the bracket has not shifted from impact or trailering loads.
