Overview
The Lumishore 010-04479-00 is a 5 m ECLIPSE SL100 blue LED strip light for 12V DC systems (10 to 15 V). The strip is fully encapsulated and potted with an IP68 rating, so it suits spots that see spray, washdowns, and damp air.
Output comes from 60 blue LEDs per meter, with power draw up to 0.5 A per meter (6 W/m). The strip measures 10.8 mm x 4.0 mm, which helps when you are hiding it in a shallow recess for indirect lighting.
It can be cut in 50 mm steps to match your layout. After trimming, the cut end needs to be sealed before installation so water cannot wick into the strip.
Key features
- 12V DC only operation (10 to 15 V range)
- 5 m strip length, with cut points every 50 mm for clean fit to your run
- 60 blue LEDs per meter for consistent line lighting
- Up to 0.5 A per meter draw (6 W/m) for straightforward circuit planning
- IP68-rated strip with fully encapsulated, potted construction
- UV resistant and salt spray tested for exposed routing on deck boats and in open cockpits
- Low-profile strip cross section: 10.8 mm x 4.0 mm
- Simple 2-wire power hookup; control can be basic on and off, or expanded with an ECLIPSE Command Center for dimming and zone control
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting path first, then dry-fit the strip so you know where any cuts will land. When the length is right, make cuts only at the marked 50 mm intervals and seal the cut end before the strip goes on the boat.
For adhesive-backed installs, surface prep matters. Clean and dry the mounting area, then press the strip firmly along the full length. In areas that warm up, stay damp, or see vibration, adding mechanical retention such as screw-in stainless clips helps keep the strip from creeping over time.
Electrical and control notes
Power is a simple two-wire connection to a 12V DC supply. A full 5 m run can draw up to about 2.5 A at maximum output, and shorter runs scale down proportionally, so fuse and wire size can be planned around the length you actually install.
For basic accent lighting, an on and off switch works. When paired with an ECLIPSE Command Center, the same strip can add dimming and zone control, and it can also be operated through a compatible smart device or multifunction display.
Use cases on board
This strip works well as hidden blue accent lighting under gunwales, along toe-kicks, behind cabin valances, inside lockers, and under hardtops where you want a soft glow without a visible fixture. It is a solid fit for boats running a 12V house system that need a strip light that tolerates sun, salt air, and wet use areas.
Maintenance and care
Rinse off salt residue during routine washdowns and wipe with mild soap and water when needed. Avoid harsh solvents on the encapsulated surface and check that sealed ends stay intact after any refit work or re-routing.
