Overview
The Lumitec Contour Series Navigation/Docking Combination Light is a dual-output fixture that pairs a 2 nautical mile navigation light with a 1,000-lumen white docking flood in one housing. It runs on 10-30 VDC for 12V and 24V systems, and the housing is rated IP67 for rain, spray, and washdowns.
This style is commonly set into molded pockets on hardtops, arches, and pilothouse sides so you can keep navigation lighting and docking illumination in a single location. Because it is a navigation light, mount it where the lens is not blocked by rails, canvas, or other structure and where reflections off the vessel do not end up in the operator’s field of view.
Key features
- U.S. Coast Guard approved 2 nautical mile navigation output combined with a 1,000-lumen white docking flood
- 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V boats
- Separate circuits for each function: red lead for navigation positive, orange lead for flood positive, and a shared black negative
- Navigation draw: 25 mA on 12V systems and 15 mA on 24V systems
- Flood draw: 1.3A on 12V systems and 600 mA on 24V systems
- Approximate envelope for pocket planning: about 4.07 in across the long dimension, about 1.82 in tall, with about 1.8 in depth
- White housing finish
Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations to match port and starboard navigation requirements.
The navigation output color varies between red and green, while the docking flood remains white across the range and all versions accept 10-30 VDC input.
- 101583: Light color Green; green navigation output is used on the starboard side and the docking flood is white.
- 101582: Light color Red; red navigation output is used on the port side and the docking flood is white.
Installation and setup
Orient the light correctly for the side of the vessel and mount it so the required navigation arc is unobstructed. Keep it clear of hull or deck features that can shadow the lens, and position it to reduce glare and reflections that can bother the helm at night.
On boats with hardtops and arches, these are often placed where the docking flood can throw light forward and outward while the navigation lens still has a clean line of sight.
Electrical and system integration
Wire the navigation and flood functions as two independent switched positives if you want separate control, using the shared negative as the return. Size wire gauge and circuit protection to the flood load, since it is the higher-current function.
This is a straightforward fit for standard 12V or 24V DC lighting circuits and typical on-off switch panels.
Use cases on board
This is a practical match for coastal cruisers, sportfishers, and center consoles that want side navigation lighting and a dedicated docking flood without adding extra fixtures on the bow or hardtop. It also suits refits where you are already working with molded light pockets and want to simplify the layout while keeping functions separate at the switch.
