Overview
The Lumitec Contour Series is a drop-in navigation light built for hardtops, arches, and pilothouses where you want a flush look with no exposed fasteners.
It runs on 10-30V DC (12V and 24V systems) and draws 1.5W, which makes it easy to leave on during long night runs without adding meaningful load. The housing is rated IP67 for rain, spray, and washdowns, so it holds up well in cockpit and hardtop locations.
These lights are made for standard navigation lighting roles and visibility requirements, with output colors matched to common port, starboard, and stern placements. They are rated for USCG 2 nautical mile visibility and conform to ABYC A16.
Key features
- Drop-in style meant for a molded-in pocket during hardtop manufacture for a clean, low profile install
- 10-30V DC input for 12V and 24V boats
- 1.5W power draw for low electrical load on the navigation light circuit
- IP67 rating for spray, rain, and washdowns in exposed mounting areas
- USCG 2 nautical mile visibility rating for navigation light use
- Conforms to ABYC A16
- Single-color outputs available in green, red, or white depending on the required navigation position
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations that differ by light color output.
The color is the main change between options, which aligns with common port (red), starboard (green), and stern (white) navigation light placements. Confirm your boat’s required light type and mounting location before selecting an output color.
- 101555: Light Color Green. Green output is typically used for the starboard side navigation sector when separate side and stern lights are installed.
- 101554: Light Color Red. Red output is typically used for the port side navigation sector when separate side and stern lights are installed.
- 101556: Light Color White. White output is typically used for stern lighting on setups that use separate port and starboard side lights.
Installation and setup
This is a drop-in style light that is intended to sit in a dedicated pocket in the hardtop or mounting surface. On new builds, the pocket is commonly molded during manufacture. For refits, verify that your existing pocket matches the light style and that you have underside access for wiring and service.
Mount it where the lens has a clear line of sight and will not be blocked by rails, antennas, canvas, or rod holders. Keep wiring connections in a dry area when possible, and form a drip loop so water does not track into the connection point.
Electrical and system integration
Wire the light to a switched navigation light circuit on 10-30V DC systems. Use marine-grade tinned wire, sealed heat-shrink terminals, and watertight connectors where the harness passes through the hardtop. Protect the circuit with the correct fuse or breaker for your boat’s wiring plan, and confirm polarity before final assembly.
Use cases on board
This style is a good match for center consoles, sportfishers, and pilothouse boats that want navigation lighting integrated into the hardtop with a flush exterior surface. It also suits new hardtop builds where the pocket can be planned into the layup or fabrication work.
Maintenance and care
Rinse with fresh water after saltwater use, especially after washdowns. Periodically check that the lens stays clean and clear, and inspect the seal and wiring entry for signs of water intrusion or chafe from vibration.
