Overview
The TACO Marine 1/2" Opening x 5/8" Flex Trim is a flexible PVC edge trim for finishing exposed material edges on boats while following curves, corners, and radius changes without a rigid molding layout. It is sized with a 1/2" opening and 5/8" width, making it useful where a clean protective edge is needed on panels, hatches, bulkheads, cabinets, cockpit areas, and other interior or exterior trim runs.
This Flex Trim uses individual internal aluminum clips with a gripping tongue to help it hold to the edge once pressed into place. The 25' length gives installers room to cover longer runs or cut shorter sections for refit work, repairs, and new trim installations around uneven or unfinished edges.
Key features
- Flexible PVC trim covers unfinished edges and follows almost any contour or radius.
- 1/2" opening and 5/8" width support fitment on compatible material edges where this profile is required.
- Integrated internal aluminum clips and a gripping tongue help the trim stay seated on the edge.
- 25' length suits longer trim runs and can be cut to fit shorter sections during installation.
- Available in black or white textured finishes to match common boat interior and exterior trim schemes.
- Backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Variants
This Flex Trim is offered in two color configurations for the same 1/2" opening x 5/8" profile.
The color changes between variants, while the 25' length and profile size remain the same across both options.
- V30-1316B25-1: Black. This finish works well where the trim needs to blend with dark panels, rub rail details, cockpit accents, or black hardware nearby.
- V30-1316W25-1: White. This finish suits light gelcoat, cabin panels, hatches, and other areas where a white trim edge gives the installation a cleaner visual finish.
Installation and fit
Before installation, the edge should be checked against the 1/2" opening so the trim can grip properly without forcing the profile onto material that is too thick. For a neat result, dry-fit the trim around the run first, especially on curved corners, hatch openings, and panel edges where the radius changes.
The trim can be cut to length for the job, which makes it practical for both new boat projects and refits where old or worn edge covering needs to be replaced. A clean cut at the end of the run helps the finished edge look intentional rather than patched.
Use cases on board
This trim is a good match for boat owners, builders, and refit crews who need a flexible edge finish rather than a rigid straight molding. It is especially useful around cockpit coamings, transom trim areas, bulkheads, cabin cabinetry, hatch openings, and other places where an exposed edge needs a cleaner look and a more protected feel.
