Overview
This Vimar 1-way foot switch is an inline cord control for appliances that need simple on and off operation without using your hands. It uses a foot-operated mechanism, is rated at 250 V~ with 2 A nominal current, and supports loads from 0 to 500 W.
The switch is set up for flexible-cord installation with through-line terminals, plus earth and additional terminals for class I and class II appliances. For boat use, it makes the most sense in protected interior spaces such as cabins, berth lighting, chart areas, or other dry locations where a corded light or accessory needs floor-level control.
The housing is halogen-free thermoplastic with a matt finish. The range is offered in black or white, with the same electrical format across both versions.
Key features
- 1-way foot-operated switch for inline use on flexible-cord circuits
- 250 V~ rating, 2 A nominal current, and 0 to 500 W load range
- Through-line 2 [32] A terminal format for cord pass-through wiring
- Earth and additional terminals for class I and class II appliances
- Halogen-free thermoplastic housing with matt untreated finish
- Available in black or white enclosure options
Variants
This product is offered in two color configurations.
Across the range, the difference is the enclosure color. The switching format, 250 V~ rating, 2 A nominal current, 0 to 500 W load range, foot operation, and flexible-cord connection remain the same.
- VM00680: Color Black. Black enclosure with a white button. This version keeps the body less noticeable against darker interiors, trim, or cable runs.
- VM00680.B: Color White. White enclosure with a black button. This version blends more easily into lighter interiors and pale cord runs.
Installation and onboard use
This is an inline switch rather than a panel-mount unit, so it suits corded lamps and small onboard appliances where the switch needs to sit on the sole, near a bunk, or beside a work surface. Check the cord construction and conductor arrangement before fitting it into an existing lead.
Because no weather-sealing rating is stated, it is better suited to protected indoor locations than open deck or exposed cockpit installations. It is a good match for owners who want a straightforward foot switch on a cabin light, reading lamp, or similar corded device without adding a fixed wall switch.
