Overview
The Hella Marine EuroLED 150 is a warm white LED downlight for recessed mounting in overhead panels on board. It runs on Multivolt 9-33V DC (12V/24V nominal) and draws 4.0W, with a 3000K color temperature that reads as a comfortable, warm cabin light.
The lamp body is completely sealed for use in interior or exterior locations, wet or dry, and it is CE approved for recessed mounting. The trim diameter is 150 mm (5.90 in) with a 124 mm (4.88 in) cut-out and 20 mm (0.79 in) depth behind the panel, and the unit weighs about 245 g including the cable.
This is the non-touch version, so switching is handled by your existing circuit switch rather than a control pad on the lamp face. It comes pre-wired with 500 mm of twin or triple core marine cable for straightforward hook-up.
Key features
- Warm white LED output at 3000K with 4.0W power draw (less than 0.33A at 12V, less than 0.16A at 24V).
- Multivolt input range 9-33V DC for 12V and 24V systems.
- Recessed-mount footprint: 150 mm overall trim diameter, 124 mm cut-out, 20 mm depth behind the mounting surface.
- Completely sealed construction for interior or exterior use, including damp and exposed areas.
- Lens is made from UV resistant enhanced impact acrylic, with rim options in UV resistant plastic or 316 stainless steel.
- Low EMC noise to help avoid interference with onboard radio communications.
- Polarity conscious wiring with reverse polarity protection; protect the circuit with a fuse rated at 2A maximum.
Variants
The EuroLED 150 non-touch warm white lamp is offered with two rim materials to match the look of the cabin and the level of exposure.
The light color (3000K warm white), electrical range (9-33V DC), and recessed mounting footprint are the same across the variants; the rim material is what changes.
- 980631602: Rim material: Plastic. The plastic trim blends well with white liners and keeps the face simple in interior spaces.
- 980631612: Rim material: Stainless Steel (316). The stainless trim gives a polished finish that holds up well around spray and frequent wipe-downs.
Installation and fit
Plan the location with the 124 mm cut-out and 150 mm trim in mind, and check you have at least 20 mm of clear depth behind the headliner or panel for the lamp body and wiring. Because the unit is sealed, it works well in places that see moisture, but route the cable so water cannot track along it into splices or junction points.
Electrical and system integration
Connect red to DC positive and black to DC negative, and keep the lamp on a 2A (max) fused circuit. The electronics are built to handle the normal voltage swings seen on charging systems, and reverse polarity will stop the lamp from lighting without damaging it.
Materials and corrosion resistance
The lens material is UV resistant enhanced impact acrylic, which helps resist damage from vibration and regular cleaning. Choose the plastic rim when you want a white finish that disappears into liners, or the 316 stainless rim when you prefer a metal trim in exposed areas such as a cockpit hardtop or covered deck.
Use cases on board
This downlight is a good match for boaters who want warm, comfortable overhead lighting and prefer a sealed fitting that can be used in both interior spaces and protected exterior areas. It is commonly used in saloons, cabins, companionways, hardtops, and cockpit overhangs where a flush face stays out of the way.
Maintenance and care
Rinse with fresh water when needed and clean with mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the acrylic lens and on polished stainless trims.
