Overview

The Garmin 010-11969-00 is a second station mounting kit that lets you add a compatible echoMAP or GPSMAP unit at another location on the boat.

It includes a wiring harness for power and connection to an optional NMEA 0183 network, which helps keep a clean, serviceable install when you are adding a second helm, cockpit station, or nav table display.

This kit is for echoMAP 70dv, echoMAP 70s, GPSMAP 741, and GPSMAP 741xs.

Compatibility and fit

Compatibility is specific to echoMAP 70dv/70s and GPSMAP 741/741xs. Mount geometry and connector style must match the unit, so this is not a universal Garmin mount.

If your display is a different model or series, use the mount and power/data harness intended for that unit so the connectors and cable routing stay correct.

Installation and setup

Choose a flat, solid mounting surface where you can comfortably view the screen and reach the controls. Leave room behind the unit for the cable bend radius and for unplugging the connector later without having to remove the whole bracket.

When routing the harness, plan for vibration and water exposure: add strain relief, protect any pass-throughs with the right fittings or grommets, and keep connections tucked where they are less likely to see spray or washdowns.

Electrical and system integration

The included harness supports power at the second station and provides the wiring path used for optional NMEA 0183 networking, which is common on many legacy marine electronics installs.

NMEA 0183 wiring is separate from NMEA 2000 cabling, so this kit is meant for NMEA 0183 integration where applicable rather than a NMEA 2000 backbone connection.

This setup is a good fit for boats that run a compatible unit at the primary helm and want the same style display location at a second steering position, inside helm, or fishing station.
