Overview
The Attwood Marine All-Around Fold-Down Incandescent Anti-Glare Lens Light is a 12V fold-down all-round navigation light for boats that need a raised white light with 360-degree visibility. It is rated for 2 nautical miles of visibility and is suited for boats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m, where an all-round light is required for nighttime running or anchoring.
The fold-down base makes the light practical for trailered boats, low bridges, storage covers, and cockpit areas where a fixed pole can get in the way. Its anti-glare lens helps reduce light spilling back toward the helm, which matters when running at night or keeping watch from the cockpit.
This range is built around Attwood LightArmor fold-down bases with cam-lock operation, so the pole can be raised for use and folded down when not needed. Variant choices cover 12 in and 20 in pole lengths, aluminum or black plastic pole construction, and horizontal, vertical, or dual mount base options.
Key features
- 12V incandescent all-round navigation light for boats that require a white 360-degree light.
- 2 nautical mile visibility rating for boats up to 39.4 ft, or 12 m.
- USCG certified for navigation light use within the stated boat length and visibility range.
- Fold-down LightArmor base helps keep the pole out of the way during trailering, storage, or when clearance is limited.
- Cam-lock base operation allows the pole to be raised or lowered with one hand.
- Anti-glare lens helps preserve visibility at the helm by reducing back-glare from the light.
- Available with aluminum or black plastic pole options to match different mounting locations and preference.
- Horizontal, vertical, and dual mount kit configurations support different deck, transom, gunwale, or rail-area layouts.
Variants
This product is offered in several configurations so the light can match the mounting surface and pole height needed on the boat.
The main differences between variants are pole length, pole material, and the base or mount kit supplied. The 12V incandescent all-round light format, anti-glare lens concept, fold-down use, and 2 nautical mile visibility rating remain consistent across this range.
- 5350-PA12-7: 12 in pole length, aluminum pole, and horizontal composite base with adapter. This setup suits flat horizontal mounting areas where a shorter aluminum pole gives enough height above nearby hardware.
- 5358-P12-7: 12 in pole length, black plastic pole, and dual mount kit with horizontal and vertical mounts. The dual mount kit gives more flexibility when the same light style may need to be fitted to different surface orientations.
- 5350-PA20-7: 20 in pole length, aluminum pole, and horizontal composite base with adapter. The taller pole helps raise the all-round light above canvas, seating, rails, or other deck obstructions when installed on a horizontal surface.
- 5351-PA12-7: 12 in pole length, aluminum pole, and vertical composite base with adapter. This version is intended for vertical mounting areas where a shorter pole is the better fit.
- 5351-PA20-7: 20 in pole length, aluminum pole, and vertical composite base with adapter. This configuration pairs the taller aluminum pole with a vertical base for installations where the mounting surface is upright.
Installation and fit
Before installation, confirm that the mounting location gives the all-round light an unobstructed 360-degree view when the pole is raised. Seats, canvas, fishing gear, engine cowls, radar arches, and wake towers can block the light if the pole is too short or the base is mounted too low.
The horizontal base versions are suited to flat deck or cap surfaces, while the vertical base versions work better on upright surfaces such as a transom face or side panel. The dual mount kit version is useful when the final mounting orientation is not yet fixed or when the installation may need either horizontal or vertical hardware.
Electrical and on-board use
This is a 12V incandescent navigation light, so it should be wired into a properly protected 12V DC lighting circuit and switched according to the boat's navigation light layout. It is a good match for small powerboats, fishing boats, runabouts, and similar vessels that need a fold-down all-round white light rather than a fixed pole.
Because the light folds down, it is especially practical for boats that are stored under covers, kept in garages, trailered often, or run under low docks and bridges. Raise it fully before operation and check that the cam-lock is secure before heading out.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, rinse the light, pole, and base with fresh water and let the assembly dry before long-term storage. Keep the lens clean so the 360-degree output is not reduced by salt film, wax, or grime.
Inspect the base, wiring, and pole movement as part of normal pre-departure checks. Replace the incandescent bulb when output drops or the lamp fails, and make sure the light is working before any night run or anchoring situation where navigation lights are required.
