Overview
The Attwood Marine Tsunami Mk2 T1200 Aerator is a 12V livewell aerator pump for moving water through baitwell and livewell systems on fishing boats. It sits in the 1200 GPH class and the T1200 specification uses a 1-1/8" outlet barb, a 5A fuse, and a 1-3/8" hole saw size.
This Mk2 version focuses on easier installation and service than older cartridge-style aerator layouts. The motor cartridge can be serviced with one hand, the outlet rotates 360 degrees for hose routing, and the pump family is IP68 rated for wet bilge and livewell areas where splashing and washdown are part of normal use.
It suits anglers who need steady livewell circulation for bait or catch during coastal runs, lake fishing, and tournament days. The range also helps with refits because Mk2 cartridges remain compatible with previous Tsunami models.
Key features
- 12V T1200 aerator pump for livewell and baitwell water circulation.
- 1200 GPH class flow, with documented T1200 output of 1143 GPH at 0 ft head under ABYC 13.6V conditions.
- IP68 rating, ISO 8846 ignition protection, and ABYC E-11 and ISO 10133 electrical standards.
- 1-1/8" outlet barb and 5A fuse specification for the T1200 pump size.
- Motor cartridge can be serviced with one hand, which helps when the pump is mounted low in a livewell compartment or bilge area.
- 360-degree outlet and straight or 90-degree inlet configurations make hose routing easier in tight spaces.
- Mk2 cartridges are backward compatible with previous Tsunami models for simpler service and refit planning.
- No sealant or tools required for the Mk2 installation system.
Variants
This parent product covers three T1200 configurations with the same 12V pump family and different inlet styles.
The inlet connection is the main difference. The straight and 90-degree versions are thru-hull style T1200 pumps, while the NPT version is a seacock-style configuration with a 1" NPT inlet.
- 5663-4: 1" NPT inlet. This version is for seacock-style installations where a threaded 1" NPT inlet connection is the needed match.
- 5664-4: 90-degree inlet. The angled inlet helps when the plumbing path needs to turn close to the pump body instead of running straight out from the hull fitting.
- 5660-4: straight inlet. The straight inlet works well when the thru-hull path and hose run line up directly with the pump location.
Installation and setup
For installation, plan around the pump’s inlet style, the 1-1/8" outlet barb, and the 5A circuit protection used for this T1200 size. The Mk2 outlet orientation helps reduce awkward hose bends, but the pump should still be mounted so the cartridge can be reached later for cleaning or replacement.
Compatibility and fit
The T1200 Mk2 pump family is useful on refits because its cartridges are compatible with previous Tsunami models. That can save time when replacing an older Attwood aerator, but the hull fitting, inlet thread, hose size, and wiring should still be checked against the boat before installation.
Materials and standards
The pump uses PC/PBT for the lid, cartridge body, and pump body, with an ABS basket, glass-filled polypropylene and POM fittings, a glass-filled PBT impeller, an SS316 motor shaft, and nitrile seals. Those material details matter in a wet marine compartment where vibration, moisture, and regular service access are part of the job.
