Overview
The Attwood Marine Tsunami Mk2 T800 is a 12V aerator pump for livewell and baitwell systems where steady water circulation helps keep bait and catch in better condition while the boat is underway or at the dock. The T800 is rated at 793 GPH at 0 ft head on 13.6 V DC, with a 3/4 inch barb outlet, a 1-1/8 inch hole saw size, and a 4A fuse rating.
This Mk2 version uses a serviceable motor cartridge that can be removed by hand, which makes cleaning or cartridge replacement easier when access is tight inside a transom area, bilge compartment, or livewell plumbing space. The housing carries an IP68 rating and meets ISO 8846 Marine ignition protection, with marine wiring standards listed to ABYC E-11 and ISO 10133.
Key features
- 800-class flow for livewell circulation, with 793 GPH at 0 ft head and 498 GPH at 3.3 ft head.
- 12V DC operation with a 4A fuse rating for common boat electrical systems.
- 3/4 inch barb outlet and 1-1/8 inch hole saw size help match the pump to livewell plumbing layouts.
- IP68-rated pump body with ISO 8846 Marine ignition protection for wet compartments on board.
- Motor cartridge can be serviced with one hand, reducing the work needed when the pump is installed in a tight space.
- Mk2 cartridges are compatible with previous Tsunami models, which helps when replacing an older cartridge-style installation.
Variants
The Tsunami Mk2 T800 is offered here in three inlet configurations so the pump body can be matched to the thru-hull, seacock, or hose-routing layout already planned for the boat.
The shared specifications across these T800 variants include 12V DC operation, the 800-class pump rating, a 3/4 inch barb outlet, a 1-1/8 inch hole saw size, a 4A fuse rating, IP68 protection, and serviceable Mk2 cartridge construction. The inlet type and body dimensions vary by configuration.
- 5650-4 uses a straight inlet with a 3/4 inch NPS inlet thread. Its long thru-hull style body suits installations where the pump can sit in line with the hull fitting and hose run.
- 5653-4 uses a 3/4 inch NPT inlet with a shorter seacock-style body. This configuration suits threaded plumbing where a shorter inlet length is needed.
- 5654-4 uses a 90-degree inlet with a 3/4 inch NPS inlet thread. The angled inlet helps route the pump where vertical clearance or hose direction makes a straight inlet less convenient.
Installation and setup
Plan the installation around pump access as much as plumbing angle. The cartridge can be serviced without removing the whole pump from the plumbing, so leaving hand clearance above the pump will make routine cleaning and future replacement simpler.
The T800 performance changes with head height: it moves 498 GPH at 3.3 ft head and 371 GPH at 6.7 ft head on 13.6 V DC. This matters on boats where the livewell is mounted higher than the pump or where the hose route rises sharply after the pickup.
Compatibility and fit
The 3/4 inch barb outlet fits 3/4 inch livewell hose layouts. For replacement work, match the inlet style, thread type, hole size, and available height before ordering, especially when replacing an older Tsunami pump in an existing livewell compartment.
Electrical and materials
The pump is a 12V DC unit and should be wired with the listed 4A fuse in a circuit suitable for marine use. The construction includes PC/PBT housing parts, an ABS basket, glass-filled polypropylene and POM fittings, a glass-filled PBT impeller, an SS316 motor shaft, and nitrile seals.
Use cases on board
This pump range fits fishing boats that need aeration for a baitwell or livewell during coastal runs, lake fishing, dockside holding, or tournament days where bait condition matters. The variant spread is most useful when the plumbing path is already fixed and the inlet angle needs to fit the space rather than forcing a new hose route.
