Overview
The Garmin 010-12445-22 is a bail mount with knobs that surface-mounts compatible echoMAP CHIRP 7x chartplotter/sounder combos and uses an 8-pin quick cable disconnect at the mount. The bracket lets you tilt the display to keep the screen readable from the helm. With the cable disconnect layout, your power and transducer leads can remain plugged into the mount so the unit can be seated or removed without pulling wiring through the console.
This style of mount works well on center consoles, fishing rigs, and small pilothouses where electronics may be removed for trailering, storage, or winter layup. It also helps keep the helm tidy when you want to take the display off the boat while leaving the cabling in place.
Key features
- Bail bracket with side knobs for easy tilt adjustment at the helm
- 8-pin quick cable disconnect at the mount so wiring can stay in place when the display is removed
- For surface mounting on a flat dash, console top, or electronics box
- Compatible with ECHOMAP CHIRP 72cv, 72dv, 73cv, 73dv, 74cv, 74dv, 75cv, 75dv, and Panoptix Ice Fishing Bundle
Compatibility and fit
This is the 8-pin bail mount for the echoMAP CHIRP 7x cv and dv models listed above. Confirm the model name on your display and the connector style before ordering, especially if you are replacing an older bracket or moving a unit between boats.
The mount provides tilt adjustment at a fixed location and is intended for installations where the display can be reached to loosen the knobs and set the viewing angle.
Installation and setup
Position the bracket so the display can tilt through its range without contacting a windshield frame, steering wheel, or nearby switches. When mounting to thinner fiberglass or plastic, supporting the underside helps prevent flex as the boat runs in chop.
Route power and transducer wiring with strain relief near the mount and a drip loop to keep vibration and water movement from working on the connection points. Keep cables clear of sharp edges and seal any penetrations in the console or dash in a way that matches your boat’s construction.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt spray off the bracket and knobs during washdowns and check mounting fasteners periodically. If you remove the display often, wipe the cable connection area clean before reseating the unit to keep grit from building up.
