Overview
The Jabsco 38045-4194RSP is a 24V electric marine toilet with a regular bowl, a soft-close lid, and a fresh-water solenoid valve for boats that already have a pressurized onboard fresh-water system. It uses a touch panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty modes, and Eco mode uses 1.0 litre of water per flush.
This version is aimed at installations where owners want a cleaner fresh-water rinse setup instead of drawing in outside water. The regular bowl gives a more familiar feel in daily use, while the overall height of 14.4 in. and depth of 18.9 in. help when checking fit inside a compact head compartment.
It is also easier to work into tight spaces than many electric heads. The base can be rotated to place the discharge left, right, or rear, and the pump can be turned 180 degrees so hose runs can be routed more cleanly behind the toilet.
Key features
- 24V DC operation for boats with a 24V electrical system
- Fresh-water rinse setup with solenoid valve for use with an onboard pressurized water supply
- Regular bowl with a soft-close seat and lid
- Touch panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty flush modes
- Eco mode uses 1.0 litre of water per flush
- Base rotates for left, right, or rear discharge orientation
- Discharge pump rotates 180 degrees and supports straight or 90 degree outlet routing
- Quick-release pump and hose access allows service work without tools
- 19 mm (3/4 in.) inlet connection and 25 mm (1 in.) discharge, with a 38 mm (1.5 in.) discharge option when the adaptor is used
Installation and setup
This toilet suits boats where plumbing space is tight and discharge routing is awkward. Being able to rotate both the base and the pump can reduce the amount of hose bending needed behind the bowl, which is helpful when the head compartment is boxed in by cabinetry or bulkheads.
The fresh-water version belongs in systems that already have pressurized potable water available at the head. The touch panel and control box are sealed for wet head compartments, and the panel uses simple touch operation rather than a larger mechanical switch.
Compatibility and fit
This model is for boats that run on 24V DC and want a freshwater flush toilet rather than a raw-water rinse setup. It connects to a 19 mm inlet and a 25 mm discharge as standard, so buyers can check existing hose sizes before ordering or planning a replacement. The regular bowl format is a practical match for cruising boats that want more comfort than a compact bowl usually gives.
Use on board
It makes sense on cruising powerboats, sailing yachts, and charter boats where the toilet sees regular use and service access matters. The Empty mode is useful when the boat is underway because it leaves the bowl dry, which helps cut down on splash when the hull is moving.
