Overview
The Jabsco 38045-4192RSP is a 12V Quiet Flush E2 freshwater marine toilet with a regular bowl and a soft-close lid. It connects to an onboard fresh water system through a solenoid valve and uses a touch panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty flush modes. Eco mode uses 1.0 litre per flush, which helps on boats where water use and battery draw both matter.
This model is built for heads where space behind the bowl is limited and hose routing is not straightforward. The base can be turned to place the discharge to the left, right, or rear, the discharge pump can be rotated 180 degrees, and the outlet can be set up with a straight or 90 degree discharge port. The regular bowl footprint is about 14.4 in. high, 14.8 in. wide, and 18.9 in. deep, and the recommended fuse size is 25 amps.
Key features
- 12V DC electric toilet for boats using an onboard pressurized fresh water system
- Regular bowl with soft-close lid for a more familiar onboard head layout
- Touch panel with three flush modes: Eco, Normal, and Empty
- Eco flush uses 1.0 litre per cycle
- Base rotates and the discharge pump can be repositioned to help with tight installations
- Straight or 90 degree discharge port for easier hose routing
- Quick-release pump assembly and discharge hose access without tools
- 3/4 in. bowl inlet and 1 in. discharge hose barb, with 1-1/2 in. discharge adaptor option
- Panel and control box rated IP56 for wet head compartments
Installation and fit
This toilet works well in refits where the old hose run does not line up cleanly with the new bowl position. The rotating base and reversible pump position give the installer more freedom to keep pipework to the rear and reduce awkward bends behind the toilet. For freshwater setups, it uses the boat's existing potable water supply rather than a separate raw-water rinse pump.
The control panel connects with a 3 m cable, which gives some flexibility when placing the switch where it can be reached easily from the seat or bulkhead. On the electrical side, this is a 12V DC unit with an operating range of 9.6 to 14.4 VDC and intermittent-duty operation, so it should be wired on a circuit sized for toilet load rather than treated like a low-draw accessory.
Compatibility and service
This model sits in the replacement path for earlier Quiet Flush freshwater units in the 37045 and 37245 range, but hose routing, electrical runs, and available clearance should still be checked before ordering. The freshwater setup also needs adequate flow from the onboard pressure system, especially on boats with long supply runs or multiple fixtures on the same line.
Service access is one of the stronger points here. The quick-release C-clip layout lets the discharge pump assembly come away from the toilet base without tools, which is useful when the head is boxed into a tight compartment or when the system needs cleaning after heavy seasonal use.
Use on board
This is a good match for cruising boats, charter boats, and owners who want freshwater flushing instead of pulling in raw water through the head system. It also suits boats where the toilet is used often enough that quiet operation, low water use in Eco mode, and easier service access matter day to day.
