Overview
The Jabsco 38245-4194RSP is a 24V Quiet Flush E2 raw-water marine toilet with a regular bowl, a composite soft-close seat and lid, and touch-panel flush control. It runs on a 24V DC system with a 19.2 to 28.8 VDC operating range, and the control panel gives you Eco, Normal, and Empty flush modes, with Eco mode using 1.0 litre per cycle.
This version uses a diaphragm rinse pump for sea, river, and lake water, so it suits boats that are set up for raw-water flushing rather than flushing from the onboard potable system. The bowl inlet takes a 19 mm hose barb and the waste discharge is 25 mm, with straight or 90 degree discharge options and a 38 mm adaptor option where the plumbing layout calls for it.
Key features
- 24V DC toilet system with a 19.2 to 28.8 VDC operating range
- Raw-water rinse pump for sea, river, and lake water, self-priming to 1.8 m
- Regular bowl with a composite soft-close seat and lid
- Touch sensor panel with Eco, Normal, and Empty cycles
- Eco flush uses 1.0 litre of water per cycle
- Base mounts in 90 degree increments and the discharge pump rotates 180 degrees for left, right, or rear hose routing
- 19 mm bowl inlet and 25 mm waste discharge hose barb, with straight or 90 degree discharge port options
- Panel and control box are IP56 rated
Installation and setup
The installation layout is one of the stronger points here. The base can be positioned to suit tighter head compartments, and the discharge pump can be rotated so the pipework can be routed more cleanly toward the rear of the toilet. That makes a difference on boats where tank location, bulkheads, or stringers leave very little room to work with.
This toilet can be installed above or below the waterline on powerboats and sailboats. The raw-water rinse pump uses 19 mm inlet and outlet connections and includes an inline strainer, which is useful when the intake run is exposed to the kind of debris that turns up in sea or river water.
Servicing and day-to-day use
The Quiet Flush E2 platform is built around easier access when service is needed. The discharge pump assembly uses a quick-release arrangement, so getting to the macerator side of the system is less awkward than on older installations that force you to strip down more of the toilet just to reach the pump.
In daily use, the touch panel keeps operation simple and tidy in a wet head compartment. The 3 m link cable gives you some freedom on panel placement, which helps when the toilet itself needs to sit hard against a bulkhead or under a counter edge.
Compatibility and fit
This model makes sense for boats with a 24V house system that want an electric toilet with a full-size regular bowl and raw-water flushing. It also suits refits where plumbing access is limited and the discharge direction needs to be adjusted to match the existing hose run rather than rebuilding the compartment around the toilet.
The bowl is glazed vitreous china, the regular seat and lid are thermoset urea, and the base assembly is ABS. That combination works well in normal marine head use where washdowns, humidity, and constant movement are part of the environment.
