Installation and fit

This is a surface-mount unit, so it fits boats where a low-profile underwater light makes more sense than a thru-hull body. On the 6 inch version, mounting-hole spacing is 5.25 inches, the wire clearance hole is 9/16 inch, and installed height from the mounting surface is about 0.56 inch. Those measurements are worth checking around trim tabs, steps, transducers, and any tight rigging space at the stern.

The light is for underwater use only and should be mounted below the waterline. A location at least 10 inches below the waterline is recommended, with the wire pass-through and fasteners sealed correctly while the rear cooling ridges stay clear.

Use on board

This model is a good match for center consoles, cruisers, and sportfishing boats that need fixed transom lighting in blue. It works best where you want a broad underwater wash at the stern and have room for a surface-mounted fixture rather than a recessed installation.
