Overview
The Garmin 010-01333-04 is a 6 ft (1.82 m) open-array radar antenna that mounts to a compatible GMR xHD2 pedestal.
This is the array only, so it is meant for systems where the pedestal is already in place. It is used with the GMR 626 xHD2, GMR 1226 xHD2, and GMR 2526 xHD2.
Because a 6 ft array sweeps a wide circle, check the mounting spot for full rotation clearance before you haul it up to the hardtop, radar arch, or mast.
Key features
- 6 ft (1.82 m) open-array length for GMR xHD2 open-array installations
- Antenna-only replacement component that pairs with an xHD2 pedestal
- Listed for use with GMR 626 xHD2, GMR 1226 xHD2, and GMR 2526 xHD2
- Good fit when a damaged array needs to be replaced without changing the rest of the radar system
- Requires a mounting location with enough clearance for the full sweep of a 6 ft array
Compatibility and fit
Match the antenna to the exact xHD2 pedestal and radar model already on the boat. If you are moving from a radome to an open-array setup, the pedestal and mounting plan need to be in place first since this part is not a complete radar by itself.
Plan around height and sight lines. Higher mounting typically helps radar performance, but the mount still needs to be rigid enough to handle wind load and vibration without the array flexing or working hardware loose.
Installation and setup
Isolate power at the radar breaker before working on the scanner, and use proper fall protection if you are installing on a mast or arch. A second set of hands makes handling a 6 ft array much safer during lift and alignment.
After the physical install, confirm the array is level and run through the radar alignment steps on your compatible display so bearings and heading overlay stay accurate for close-quarters navigation.
Use on board
This setup makes sense on larger center consoles, sportfishers, and cruising sailboats that already run a GMR xHD2 open-array pedestal and want to keep the system consistent when replacing the antenna.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt off the array with fresh water after heavy spray or washdowns. Periodically check that mounting fasteners stay tight and that the scanner remains clear of new rigging, antennas, or accessories added near the sweep path.
