Overview
The Blue Sea Systems 2715 is a common busbar cover for Blue Sea Systems 2301 and 2303 busbars. It fits the 2301 Common 150A BusBar - 10 Gang and the 2303 Common 150A BusBar - Four 1/4"-20 Studs, giving those connection points a matching protective cover without changing the busbar itself.
This cover weighs 0.08 lb (0.04 kg) and is made from polycarbonate, so it adds very little bulk while helping shield exposed terminals from accidental contact. On a boat, that matters most in battery switch compartments, DC distribution areas, and other electrical spaces where busbars are mounted in the open.
It is a fit-specific part rather than a universal cover. If your setup uses a bare 2301 or 2303 busbar and you want the same covered layout found on the factory covered versions, this is the matching accessory.
Key features
- Made to fit Blue Sea Systems 2301 and 2303 common 150A busbars
- Polycarbonate cover adds a protective barrier over exposed busbar connections
- Low added weight at 0.08 lb (0.04 kg)
- Helps clean up open distribution points while keeping the busbar layout visible through the cover
- Useful when upgrading a bare busbar installation to a covered setup
Compatibility and fit
This cover fits two specific Blue Sea Systems busbars only: the 2301 with 10 screw terminals and 2 stud terminals, and the 2303 with four 1/4"-20 studs. That makes fit easy to confirm if you already know the busbar part number or can match the terminal layout in your panel.
For replacement work, it is a good match when the original cover is missing or when an existing 2301 or 2303 installation was built without one. It is not a general busbar cover for other Blue Sea busbar families or for different terminal layouts.
Installation and setup
Install the cover after the busbar is mounted and the conductors are terminated correctly. Before fitting it, check that cable lugs, terminal hardware, and wire exit paths are already arranged the way you want, especially in tight compartments where access becomes harder once the area is covered.
Because this is a simple protective cover rather than a powered component, there is no electrical setup involved. The main check is physical fit with the matching 2301 or 2303 busbar already in place.
Use on board
This part makes the most sense for owners and installers tidying up exposed distribution points in service panels, battery compartments, and other interior electrical spaces. It is especially useful on boats where open busbar studs are easy to brush against during maintenance or troubleshooting.
