Overview
The Hella Marine 358111011 is a slim blue LED strobe lighthead that runs on 10-30 V DC (12V or 24V systems) and draws 3 W.
It uses three LEDs and includes 12 user-selectable flash patterns. When multiple units are wired for synchronization, they can flash at the same time or alternate, which helps keep a multi-light setup looking consistent.
It meets SAE Class 1 and California Title 13 requirements that are commonly specified for warning strobe applications.
Key features
- Blue LED strobe output with three LEDs and 12 built-in flash patterns
- 10-30 V DC input for common 12V and 24V onboard electrical systems
- 3 W power consumption for a light electrical load
- Synchronization wiring supports simultaneous or alternating flash timing across multiple units
- Screw-mount installation with a low-profile lighthead for tight mounting spots
- 8 in (203 mm) pigtail with open wire ends for hardwiring into a switched circuit
- Plastic housing intended for warning strobe use
Installation and wiring
Mount the lighthead to a flat, solid surface where it will not be flexed by vibration. On thin panels, a small backing plate on the inside can help keep fasteners secure over time.
The lead is an 8 in pigtail with open wire ends, so plan on making sealed connections. Tinned marine wire and adhesive-lined heat-shrink splices (or a sealed junction point) help keep corrosion out, and a simple strain-relief loop prevents the cable from being pulled at the lighthead.
Power it from a switched 12V or 24V DC circuit within the 10-30 V range, with overcurrent protection placed close to the source. If you are synchronizing multiple units, route and protect the wiring so it stays clear of chafe points and moving gear.
Compatibility and use notes
This is an auxiliary strobe lighthead, not a navigation light and not a general courtesy light. It is usually installed where it can be seen clearly from the direction you need attention, such as a hardtop face, radar arch, transom area, or inside a window for temporary signaling.
It suits workboats, tow and assistance vessels, and support craft that need a compact blue warning signal and may want multiple lightheads that flash together. Local rules vary on when and where blue warning strobes are permitted on the water.
